Town of Bermuda Run Town Council Meeting Minutes June 14, 2016 - 7:00 PM  The Town Council of Bermuda Run held its scheduled meeting on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at 7:001 PM. Council Members Present: Mayor Kenneth A. Rethmeier, DrPH; Ken Bateman; Shirley Cagle;  The meeting was. held at Bermuda Run Town Hall.  Ed Coley; John Guglielmi and Jerry West  Council Members Absent: None  Also Present: Call to Order Pledge of Allegiance Moment of Silence Adoption of the Agenda  Lee Rollins, Town Manager  Mayor Rethmeier called the meeting to order.  Council Member Shirley Cagle made a motion to adopt the agenda as presented. Council. Member Ken Bateman seconded the motion. The motion was approved by a vote offive (5) inj favor and none  opposed.  Approval of the May 10, 2016 Meeting Minutes  Council. Jerry West made a motion to approve the May 10, 2016 meeting minutes as presented. Council Member John Guglielmi seconded. the motion. The motion was approved by a vote offive (5) inj favor  and none opposed. Citizens Comments  Justin Draughn of6 641 North Main Street, Mocksville, introduced himself to the Town Council. Hei is seeking signatures oft registered voters to be placed on the ballot in the November, 2016 election for Davie County Commissioner. His priority is to overturn the sales tax distribution method, which Public Hearing to Offer Public Comment on the Proposed 2016-2017 Town Budget Lee Rollins presented aj proposed 2016-2017 budget to the Town Council on May 10, 2016. A. June 14, 2016 public hearing on the proposed budget was advertised in the Davie County Enterprise Record, posted on1 the Town of Bermuda Run website, disseminated through the Town e-newsletter distribution,  negatively impacted the three municipalities in Davie County.  and al hard copy available at Town Hall for public inspection.    Mayor. Rethmeier opened the public hearing, asking those in attendance ift they would like to make comments on the 2016-2017 proposed budget. There were none wishing to speak. Mayor Rethmeier Mayor Rethmeier asked the Town Council ift they had any comments or questions, or would they like to Council Member.John Guglielmi made a motion to adopt the 2016-2017 budget as presented. Council/Mayor Comments Shirley Cagle: Ken Bateman:  Thanked Justin Draughn for his attendance at the meeting and taking the initiative to change the sales tax distribution method. She also thanked Lee Rollins for his work presenting a clear budget for Council consideration. Expressed his appreciation for. Justin Draughn' 's willingness to serve. Thanked Lee and Cindy Griffith for publicizing the proposed budget over multiple channels of distribution. There is no reason ai resident should not be aware of  the budget. Mayor Rethmeier: Touted the success of the Sounds on the Square event in May, with over 500  people attending. Recognized the promotion of Cindy Griffith to Town Clerk/ Office Supervisor.
