Town of Bermuda Run Town Council Meeting Minutes February 9, 2016 - 7:00 PM  The Town Council of Bermuda Run held its scheduled meeting on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at 7:00 Council Members Present: Mayor Kenneth A. Rethmeier, DrPH; Ken Bateman; Shirley Cagle;  PM. The meeting was. held at the Town Hall.  Ed Coley; John Guglielmi and Jerry West  Council Members Absent: None  Also Present: Call to Order Pledge of Allegiance Moment of Silence Adoption of the Agenda  Lee Rollins, Town Manager; Hank Vanhoy, Town Attorney;  Mayor Rethmeier called the meeting to order.  Council Member John Guglielmi made ai motion to adopt the agenda as presented. Council. Member Jerry West seconded the motion. The motion was approved by a vote offive (5) inj favor and none  opposed.  Approval of the January 12,2016 Meeting Minutes  Council Ed Coley made a motion to approve the. January 12, 2016 meeting minutes as presented. Council Member Ken Bateman seconded. the motion. The motion was approved by a vote offive (5) in  favor and none opposed. Citizens Comments  There were none wishing to speak.    Resolution Regarding Sales Tax Reallocation Options  The Town Council was presented with a proposed resolution urging the County of] Davie to enter into a joint study with the municipalities of Davie County regarding sales tax reallocation problems. Hank Vanhoy spoke to the rationale for aj joint study. The Town Council discussed the desire toj put stronger language in the resolution opposing and proposed change in the method of distributing sales tax to the Council Member. Jerry West made a motion to amend the resolution as presented, to add ai new number I.tor read, "The Town Council ofthe Town of Bermuda Run unanimously opposes the change of allocation method to. sales tax distribution as considered by the County" ', and adopting the resolution as amended. Council Member. Ed Coley seconded. the motion. The motion was approved by a vote of  municipalities.  five (5) inj favor and none opposed. Council/Mayor Comments Shirley Cagle: No comments. Ken Bateman: No comments.  Ed Coley:  Reminded those in attendance that the Sheriff's Department did not ask for more  Money, the County Commissioners asked for more money. Department for 24/7 protection of] Bermuda Run.  John Guglielmi: Wants to make sure everyone understands the Town never asked the Sheriff's  Jerry West:  Wants citizens to recognize that the Town continued to offer toj pay $23,000 for "enhanced" patrols, but did not see the call volume data supporting 24/7 Department in Bermuda Run. He sees something more troubling in that the  protection.  Mayor Rethmeier: Thanked Sheriff Stokes for not reducing the level ofs service by the Sheriff's  County wants to pit the towns against each other.  There being noj further business, Council. Member Ed Coley made ai motion to adjourn. Council Member Shirley Cagle seconded the motion. The motion was approved by a vote offive (5) infavor and  none opposed.
