Town of Bermuda Run Town Council Meeting Minutes December 12, 2017-7 7:00 PM  The Town Council of Bermuda Run held its scheduled meeting on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at 7:00 Council Members Present: Mayor Kenneth. A. Rethmeier, DrPH; Ed Coley; Rick Cross  PM. The meeting was. held at. Bermuda Run Town Hall.  Mike Ernst; and Jerry West  Council Members Absent: John Guglielmi  Also Present: Call to Order Pledge of Allegiance Moment of Silence  Lee Rollins, Town Manager and Brian Williams, Town Attorney  Erin Burris, Zoning Administrator Mayor Rethmeier called the meeting to order.  Approval of the November 14, 2017 Meeting Minutes  Council Member Rick Cross made ai motion to approve the November 14, 2017 Town Council Meeting Minutes as, presented. Council Member Jerry West seconded the motion. The motion was approved by a  vote offour (4) inj favor andi none opposed. Recognition of Outgoing Council Member Ed Coley  Mayor Rethmeier presented Council Member Coley with as shadow box containing a key to the town and thanked him for his service to the residents ofBermuda Run from December 13, 2005 to December 12, 2017. Ed Coley thanked the Town Council and commented that building a cost effective town hall and supplying sewer to all residents were some oft the accomplishments he was most proud of while  serving on the Town Council.  Oath of Office Administered to Newly Elected Council Members  Judge Jimmy Myers presided over the administration oft the oath of office to: Rick Cross, Mike Ernst Council Members Present: Mayor Kenneth A. Rethmeier, DrPH; Rick Cross; Mike Ernst  and Chris Fowler. Each term isi for: four years.  Chris Fowler; and Jerry West  Council Members Absent: John Guglielmi  Adoption of the Agenda  Council Member.Jerry West made a motion to approve the agenda as presented. Council Member Mike Ernst seconded the motion. The motion was approved by a vote offour (4) inj favor and none opposed.  Citizens Comments - None    Proposed Meeting Action Items A. Appointing a Mayor Pro Tempore organizational meeting oft the Council.  Mayor Rethmeier opened the floor for nominations to appoint a Mayor Pro Tempore at this Council Member. Jerry West made ai motion to re-appoint John Guglielmi as Mayor Pro Tempore for the Council. Council Member Mike Ernst seconded the motion. The motion was  approved by a vote offour (4) inj favor and none opposed. B. Proposed 2018 Council Meetings Schedule  The proposed schedule keeps the Town Council meetings on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00pm and Agenda meetings the fourth Tuesday of each month at 9:00am. Council Member Rick Cross made ai motion to adopt the 2018 Council Meetings Schedule as presented. Council Member. Jerry West seconded the motion. The motion was approved. by a  vote offour (4) inj favor and none opposed.  C. Public Hearing - TA 2017-03 SelfStorage in Existing Buildings  Zoning Administrator, Erin Burris, provided ai report to the Town Council and those in attendance at the meeting regarding the proposed text amendment to allow self-storage in existing buildings built prior to the 2005 Town Zoning Ordinance in the Town Center and Mayor Rethmeier opened the public hearing. There was no one who wished to speak. Council. Member. Mike Ernst made ai motion to approve TA-2017-03 ini that the Town Council finds that the amendments are consistent with the Town of Bermuda Run Comprehensive Plan, specifically strategy 3.3, and considers the action to be reasonable and ini the public interest. The motion was approved by a vote offour (4) inj favor and none Representatives from the Development Finance Initiative provided a Phase I report to the Town Council Member Rick Cross made a motion to come out ofclosed session. Mayor Rethmeier- Congratulated Rick Cross, Mike Ernst and Chris Fowler on their election to the  Town Council. The Mayor also wanted to recognize the passing of] Bill Burnette and the legacy he left. He is the reason the town looks like it does today. The Town Council will recognize Mr. Burnette in an official fashion ini the new year.  Adjourn none opposed.
