Town of Bermuda Run Town Council Meeting Minutes May 9, 2017 - 7:00 PM The Town Council of Bermuda Run held its scheduled meeting on Tuesday, May 9,2017 at 7:00PM. Council Members Present: Mayor Kenneth A. Rethmeier, DrPH; Ed Coley; Rick Cross; The meeting was. held at Bermuda Run Town Hall. Mike Ernst, John Guglielmi and Jerry West Council Members Absent: None Also Present: Call to Order Pledge of Allegiance Moment of Silence Adoption of the Agenda Lee Rollins, Town Manager; Brian Williams, Town Attorney; Mayor Rethmeier called the meeting to order. Council Member. John Guglielmi made a motion to approve the May 9, 2017 Council Meeting agenda as presented. Council MemberJerry West seconded the motion. The motion was approved by a vote of five (5)i infavor and none opposed. Approval oft the April 11,2017 Meeting Minutes Council Member. Rick Cross made ai motion to approve the April 11, 2017 meeting minutes as presented. Council Member Ed Coley seconded the motion. The motion was approved by a vote offive (5)infavor and none opposed. Citizens Comments One resident signed up to speak on behalfoft the Kilbourne Drive residents during citizen comments. He was afforded five minutes to speak. Barton Sexton - 185 Kilbourne Drive Mr. Sexton thanked the Town Council for their willingness tol listen to the concerns ofthe residents that would be most impacted by the soccer park expansion. He expressed continued concerns about stadium lights being SO close to: residential properties. He also expressed concerns about the first soccer field on the conceptual plan being SO close to the residential lot lines. He suggested taking the stadium lights out and maybe take out one ofthe fields closest to thel houses. Mr. Sexton asked if there was aj possibility to turn the pedestrian bridge into a vehicular bridge for alternate soccer traffic. Request the Town Council Hold a Public Hearing During the. June 13,2017 Town Council Meeting to Offer Public Comment on the Proposed 2017-2018 Town Budget Town Manager Lee Rollins requests the public hearing to fulfill state requirements. Council Member. Town Manager Lee Rollins provided aj proposed balanced budget for the following funds: Presentation of Manager's Proposed 2017-2018 Town Budget General Fund: Utilities Fund: Balanced at $1,785,000 Balanced at $554,200 Gate Operations Fund: Balanced at $512,247 Mr. Rollins will post the proposed budget on the Town website for review and willj place al hard copy at Town Hall forj public inspection. Council/Mayor Comments Rick Cross: Mike Ernst: Thanked residents for attending the meeting. Toured Davie Medical Center and isi impressed with the facility. Extended his special thanks to Cindy Griffith and the Town Hall staff: for their professionalism in assisting residents. Expressed his appreciation for the Kinderton Village residents coming out to the meeting. Hei takes their concerns very seriously. Is confident that there are good times ahead for the Town of Bermuda Run moving forward. However, it is too late in the NCDOT planning cycle to make a change. The I-40 widening project, which Thanked all those in attendance. Reminded those in attendance that Council Informs the Town Council to consider a proposed resolution to: make speed limit changes within the Town Limits will be brought before them soon.
