Town of Bermuda Run Town Council Meeting Minutes December 11, 2018- 6:00 PM  The Town Council of Bermuda Run held its scheduled meeting on Tuesday, December 11,2018 at 6:00 Council Members Present: Mayor Kenneth A. Rethmeier, DrPH; John Guglielmi, Rick Cross,  PM. The meeting was held at Bermuda Run Town Hall.  Mike Ernst, Chris Fowler, and Jerry West  Council Members Absent: None  Also Present: Call to Order Pledge of Allegiance Moment of Silence  Lee Rollins, Town Manager; Brian Williams, Town Attorney; Cindy  Griffith, Town Clerk; Erin Burris, Planner Mayor Kenneth Rethmeier called the meeting to order. Adoption of the Agenda  Council Member. John Guglielmi made a motion to approve the agenda as presented. Council Member Jerry West seconded the motion. The motion was approved by a vote offive (5) infavor and none  opposed.  Approval of the November 13, 2018 Town Council Meeting Minutes  Council Member. Mike Ernst made a motion to approve the minutes from the November 13, 2018 Council Meeting. Council Member Rick Cross seconded the motion. The motion was approved bya  vote offive (5) infavor and none opposed.  Community Officer Update - SheriffJ.D. Hartman and Officer Jason Robertson  Sheriff. Hartman gave an update for July - November, 2018 with call volume and an update on Officer Robertson who has now completed radar certification and active shooter training. Officer Robertson, when asked about what he sees that has changed in the Town since he started almost a year ago as Community Officer, said "People are taking security more seriously." AI lot oft the calls were for alarms, and it was clarified that Davie County does not have an ordinance to charge aj penalty fee for Citizens' Comments - Mary Ann Dowd, 147 Bermudal Run Drive North, represented the Maisonettes HOA with ai request to add "NOI PARKING" signs in the neighborhood. She provided photos showing that when cars park on the street that it poses a hazard, primarily for emergency vehicle access.  multiple false alarms at residences.    Action Items  Public Hearing: Receive Public Comment on the Following Items: TA: 2018-04 Legislative Update and Consistency Text Amendments Administrative text amendments to comply with recent statutory law changes by the North Carolina General Assembly to provide clarity within various sections ofthe Ordinance. Sections 2.1,3.2,3.4(1), 35,423,44,9.1,92 9.54, 11.9, 11.11, and 12.3 of the Zoning Ordinance. Zoning Administrator Erin Burris provided an overview oft the proposed text amendments.  Mayor Rethmeier Opened the. Public Hearing There were no citizen comments. Mayor Rethmeier Closed the Public Hearing.  Council Member. Jerry West made a motion to approve and consistent with Comprehensive Plan: The Town Council finds that the proposed amendments are not. specifically addressed in the Comprehensive Plan, but are, not inconsistent with it and are necessary to comply with the. state and federal law and provide clarity within certain sections of the Zoning Ordinance.
