Town of Bermuda Run Town Council Meeting Minutes March 13, 2018- 7:00 PM The Town Council of] Bermuda Run held its scheduled meeting on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at 7:00 Council Members Present: Mayor Kenneth A. Rethmeier, DrPH; Rick Cross; Mike Ernst; PM. The meeting was held at Bermuda Run Town Hall. The motion was approved bya Citizens' Comments A. Resolution Honoring William A. Burnette Mayor Rethmeier presented to Bill Burnette's daughters and their families, a framed resolution that posthumously commended his exemplary vision that became the reality of] Kinderton. A key to the Town was also presented to the family from the Mayor and the Town Council. B. Public Hearing: Two Voluntary Annexation Requests & Carolina Athletic Performance The public hearing allowed public comments regarding the voluntary annexation request for 22.765 acres east ofl Kinderton Village (Kilbourne Drive) and west of] BB&T Sports Park; the voluntary annexation oft two lots (105 and 109 Lakeside Crossing) in Kinderton Village; and a petition by Carolina Athletic Performance for the approval ofa 10/70 provision that would Mayor Rethmeier opened the public hearing to receive comment on the proposed voluntary annexation of22.765 acres east of] Kinderton Village and lots 105 and 109 Lakeside Crossing. Mayor Rethmeier then asked ift there was anyone who wished to speak regarding the 10/70 request from Carolina Athletic Performance. Mary Dixon, of120 Kilbourne Drive, Bermuda Run, asked for an explanation of what the 10/70 request was about. Athletic Performance wishes to construct their facility, is within a watershed area. North Carolina. Administrative Code states that local governments may allow upi to 10j percent oft their watershed area to be developed and built upon upi to 70 percent built-upon surface. The area built upon is then considered impervious. The remaining 30 percent that is not built upon is termed pervious. Without the 10/70 option, the: maximum impervious areai is 24j percent of the total site area. The applicant is proposed 7.87 acres of impervious area on the site. Thet total impervious area ofthe site would be 34.6 percent. Mayor Rethmeier asked ift there were any other questions regarding the proposed voluntary annexations or the 10/70 request. There were none. Mayor Rethmeier closed the public hearing. Mayor Rethmeier asked the Town Council to consider 0-2018-01 for the voluntary annexation of22.765 acres. Council.
