Citizens Comments None 5. Items for Consideration A. Community Officer Update SheriffJD Hartman provided detailed data regarding activity within the' Town of] Bermuda Run. The Davie Medical center is the highest response area, followed by the shopping centers with a wide range ofa activities. There was: more discussion regarding underage drivers on golf carts, and Officer Robertson shared that most of the time the parents are on the carts with them. The Council praised Officer Robertson for his building of community relations, saying that just his presence has a positive impact. B. Zoning Map Amendment Bob Hodges has applied to rezone a 2.55-acre tract of] land from Residential Mixed RM) to Commercial Mixed (CM). The subject property is located north of169 Yadkin Valley Road. The applicant owns the adjoining property to the south. The Planning Board unanimously recommended approval of the proposed rezoning at their) July 17,2019 meeting. Council Member Jerry West made ai motion to bold a Public Hearing to consider the zoning map amendment at tbe August 13, 2019 Tomn Coumeil Meeting. Council Member Jobn Guglielmi seconded. the motion. Information Concerning Appointments of Mayor and Town Council Members Mayor Rethmeier's last meeting will be the. August Council. Agenda Meeting due to moving out oft town. He plans to provide aj public statement for release around. August 15. He recommends that John Guglielmi step in as Interim Mayor until after the election and the start oft the newly elected Mayor's term. B. Ignite Davie Brochure The Council has been asked to consider a contribution from the Town for the "Ignite Davie" program that begins in Senior High. Council Member Jerry West shared that this would help the Town of Bermuda Run achieve connectivity with the rest ofl Davie County and would make a nice statement. Council Member Mike Ernst has been involved with "Davie Scholars" program that begins in 6th grade; and he has met with the school Superintendent as well as others regarding how the two programs can It was agreed that the Council will take action at tbe August 13 Coumcil Meeting regarding amount gf money to contribute compliment each other. on bebalf @fthe Town. 7.
