Town of Bermuda Run Town Council Meeting Minutes December 10, 2019. - 6:00 PM  The Town Council ofBermuda Run held its scheduled meeting on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at Council Members Present: Mayor. John Guglielmi, Mike Ernst, Chris Fowler, and. Jerry West  6:00 PM. The meeting was. held at Bermuda Run Town Hall.  Council Members Absent: None  Also Present: Call to Order Pledge of Allegiance Moment of Silence  Lee Rollins, Town Manager; Cindy Griffith, Town Clerk; Brian Mayor John Guglielmi called the: meeting to order. Administered to Heather Coleman and Curtis Capps by Judge Jimmy Myers  Seating of New Town Council Adoption of the Agenda  Council Member Mike Ernst made a motion to approve the agenda. Council Member Chris. Fowler seconded the motion. The motion was approved by a vote offour (4) inf favor and none opposed.  Public Comments - None Appointing ofa Mayor Pro-Tempore  Pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 160A-70: "At the organizational meeting, the council shall elect from among its members ai mayor pro tempore to serve at the pleasure oft the council. A council member serving as mayor pro tempore shall be entitled to vote on all matters and shall be considered a council member for all purposes, including the determination ofv whether a quorum is present. During the absence oft the mayor, the council may confer upon the mayor pro tempore any oft thej powers and  duties of the mayor."    Council Member Chris Fowler made ai motion to appoint. Mike Ernst as the Mayor Pro-Tempore. Council Member. Heather Coleman seconded. the motion. The motion was approved by a vote offour  (4) Z infavor and none opposed.  Proposed 2020 Council Meeting Schedule  Thej proposed schedule keeps the Town Council meetings on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:00pm and the Council Agenda meetings on the Fourth Tuesday of each month at 9:00am. Council. Member Heather Coleman made ai motion to approve the 2020 Meeting Schedule. Council Member Curtis Capps seconded the motion. The motion was approved by a vote offour (4) inj favor and  none opposed.  Proposed December 17,2019 Council Agenda Meeting  Itis proposed tol hold a December 17 Council Agenda Meeting at 9:00am at Town Hall. Council Member Curtis Capps made ai motion to approve the December 17 meeting. Council Member Mike Ernst seconded. the motion. The motion was approved by a vote ofthree (3) inj favor and one (1).  opposed - Chris Fowler.  Appointing a Representative to the' Transportation Advisory Committee (TAC)  The TACi is composed of elected officials from Davidson, Davie, Forsyth and Stokes Counties. Former Mayor Ken Rethmeier was the Bermuda Run appointee to the TAC. The Town Council must appoint a Council Member. Mike Ernst made ai motion to appoint Mayor Rick Cross as the TAC. Representative with Council. Member Chris. Fowler as the alternate. Council Member Curtis Capps seconded. the motion. The motion was approved by a vote offour (4) infavor and none opposed.  member to represent them on the TAC beginning in January, 2020.  Council/ Mayor Comments  Mike Ernst - Feels that Mayor Rick Cross's comments set the stage for 2020 andi that he will do an excellent job. He welcomed Curtis and. Heather to the Council. He also wished bothJ John Guglielmi and. Jerry West well, as they brought ai lot ofknowledge to the Council - they will be missed. Chris Fowler - He appreciates both. John Guglielmi and. Jerry West who gave him a better perspective  on keeping in mind to do what' 's best for the entire Town in making decisions. Heather Coleman - She expressed that she 's excited about this new opportunity.  Curtis Capps - Says that it is an honor toj follow in thej footsteps ofJohn and. Jerry, and he looks Rick Cross- He looks forward to 2020 as he' 's being engaging with residents and businesses who, feel proud to be part oft the Town ofBermuda Run. He asked that everyone keep the families of Frank Sweeten (former Council Member), and Trish. Howard (Smith Grove Fire Chief's wife) in their prayers as they passed away this month. He thanked representatives. from Davie Countyfor being in attendance, stressing that the Town' 's relationship with the County is strong. He also thanked. Brian  forward to working with the Council and the Town Staff  Williams, Lee Rollins, and the Town Stafffor their hard work.  Town Manager Comments  Lee Rollins congratulated the new Mayor and Council Members saying it was an honor to serve the  board.
