Town ofBermuda Run Town Council Meeting Minutes June 9, 2020 - 6:00 PM  The Town Council of] Bermuda Run held its scheduled meeting on' Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at  6:00 PM. The meeting was held at Winmock at. Kinderton.  Council Members Present: Mayor Rick Cross, Heather Coleman, Curtis Capps, Mike Ernst, Chris  Fowler, and Ken Peacock  Council Members Absent: Also Present: Call to Order Pledge of Allegiance Moment of Silence  Lee Rollins, Town Manager; Brian Williams, Attorney; Cindy Poe,  Town Clerk  Mayor Rick Cross called the meeting to order.  Iti is the intent ofthe Town Council to solemnize the proceedings ofthis meeting and the business brought before the governing board, to offer the opportunityfor ai reflective moment ofsilence.  Adoption of the Agenda  Council Member Heather Coleman made ai motion to approve the agenda. Council Member. Mike Ernst seconded. the motion. The motion was approved. by a vote offive (5) infavor and none opposed. Council Member Heather Coleman made a motion to approve the May 12, 2020 meeting minutes. Council Member Curtis Capps seconded. the motion. The motion was approved by a vote offive (5) in  Approval of the May 12, 2020 Town Council Meeting Minutes  favor and none opposed. Public Comments - None  Public Hearing of] Recommended 2020-2021 Budget  The Town Manager'si recommended budget for the General Fund is balanced at $1,691.300, Gate Operations Fund balanced at $566,017, and Utilities Fund balanced at $530,850.  Mayor Cross opened the public hearing. There were: no public comments. Mayor Cross closed the public hearing.  Council. Member Chris Fowler made ai motion to adopt the budget ordinance as presented with Council Member. Mike Ernst seconding the motion. The motion was approved by a vote offive (5) infavor and  none opposed.    Recognition ofTown Clerk, Cindy Poe  Mayor Rick Cross recognized Cindy's recent NCAMC designation as al NC Certified Municipal Clerk. This designation came after completion ofmany classroom hours and tests, and ofbeing ai member of  the NCAMC for 2 years. Town Manager Comments  Town Manager Lee Rollins awarded Town Clerk, Cindy Poe with a clock in honor ofher 10-year work anniversary with the Town of] Bermuda Run. He also congratulated her for the designation ofNCCMC.  Council/ Mayor Comments  Ken. Peacock- Expressed that this was a good meeting, thanking Lee Rollins for his hard work on the budget. He congratulated Cindy. Poe on her recent award and anniversary. He also enjoyed the Mike Ernst - Agreed with Ken Peacock, adding that he' 's glad to. see people adjusting and eating at Heather Coleman Congratulated Cindy. Thanked. Leej for his work and presentation ofthe budget, adding that the gate fee increase (that has not changed in 10 years) was needed in order to get better Chris Fowler - Agreed with everyone; was thankful that Winmock allowed us to use the facilityfor the  information shared at the earlier ZOOMmeeting with the Davie. Foundation.  restaurants again. quality attendants. meeting. Mayor Rick Cross  Curtis Capps - Thanked. Leej for a1 well-done budget. Also congratulated Cindy.  Sheriff Dept./Communily Officer transition is going well. Census - we' 're at 75.2%, but would like that to increase. The Sports Park is ramping back up. Rise Facility - Dirt is being moved. Lee Rollins was thankedj for his hard work on the budget. Fire and emergency services were thanked. Attendees of the meeting were also thankedj for coming.  Blue Heron Trail is on hold due to. DOT budget challenges, but pedestrian bridge and  tunnel are on track.  Adjourn  With nofurther business to discuss, Council Member Curtis Capps made ai motion to adjourn.
