Town of Bermuda Run Town Council Meeting Minutes January 14, 2020 - 6:00 PM  The Town Council of Bermuda Run held its scheduled meeting on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at Council Members Present: Mayor Rick Cross, Heather Coleman, Curtis Capps, Mike Ernst, and  6:00. PM. The meeting was. held at Bermuda Run Town Hall.  Chris Fowler  Council Members Absent: None  Also Present: Call to Order Pledge of Allegiance Moment of Silence  Lee Rollins, Town Manager; Cindy Griffith, Town Clerk; Brian  Williams, Attorney  Mayor Rick Cross called the meeting to order.  Iti is the intent oft the Town Council to. solemnize the proceedings of this meeting and the business brought before the governing board, to offer the opportunity for a reflective moment ofsilence. Council Member Curtis Capps made ai motion to approve the agenda. Council Member Chris. Fowler seconded the motion. The motion was approved by a vote offour (4) inj favor and none opposed. Council Member Chris. Fowler made a motion to approve the December 10, 2019 meeting minutes. Council Member. Heather Coleman seconded the motion. The motion was approved by a vote offour  Adoption of the Agenda  Approval of the December 10, 2019 Town Council Meeting Minutes  (4) inf favor and none opposed. Public Comments - None  Public Hearing = On the Ouestion of Voluntary Annexation  Aj petition requesting annexation was received on October 24, 2019 by the Bermuda Run Town Council. The area in question is below Winmock at Twins Drive which was purchased by Comet Development. The Town Council adopted a resolution to direct the Town Clerk to direct the sufficiency oft the petition. The Town Clerk certified the petition as directed by G.S. 160A-31. The Town Council voted to holda public hearing on the issue of annexation for Tuesday, January 14, 2020. Public Notice was advertised in  the January 2 and January 9, 2020 editions of the Davie County Enterprise Record.  Mayor Cross Opened. tbe Public. Hearing There were noj public comments. Mayor Cross Closed tbe Public. Hearing    02020-01: Ordinance to Extend the Corporate Limits of the Town of Bermuda Run The Town Council may adopt the Annexation Ordinance 02020-01, to be effective January 14, 2020 Council. Member Mike. Emst made ai motion for tbe Council to adopt tbe Amexation Ordinance. Council, Member Curtis Capps. seconded tbe motion. The motion was qpproved by a vote gffour (4) inj favor and none opposed.  R2020-01: Census Partnershipwith Davie County  The proposed resolution confirms the' Town's commitment to partner with Davie County to ensure every resident is counted for the 2020 Census. Mayor Cross stated that 2020 is the first year that online submittals are available, and that the census results are important as they impact healthcare and the Council Member Heatber Coleman made a motionj for the Coumcil to adopt the proposed resolution. Chris Fowler - No further comment.  Curtis Capps - Stated that hei is very excited about the appointment of Ken Peacock to the Council, Mike Ernst - Said that it is great to now have a full Council, and that he's also very impressed with Heather Coleman - Feels that Mayor Rick Cross has made the transition to Council Member a very Mayor. Rick Cross Shared that he is very energized by everything going on within the County and the Town of] Bermuda Run-Leadership Davie, the East Davie sewer project, Comet Bermuda Run, the appointment ofKen Peacock to the Council, and many other things to come. There will be Planning Session at the January Council Agenda Meeting where the Council and staff can brainstorm and share ideas for the upcoming year and how we can further achieve what's set: forth in the Comprehensive  Rick Cross and his leadership skills as the Town's new.
