Council Member Mike. Brannon seconded  the motion. The motion was qpproved by a vote of three (3) inj favor and none opposed. 4. Approval of the. April 25, 2023. Agenda Meeting Minutes  Council Member. Mike Erst made ai motion to approve the. April 25, 2023 Agenda Meeting minutes. Council Member Melinda Szeliga. seconded tbe motion. The motion was qpproved by a vote of tbree (3) in favor and none opposed.  5. Citizen Comments - NONE . Presentations  a. Davie County Schools Superintendent Jeff Wallace and School Board Chair Wendy Horne Superintendent Jeff Wallace shared that DC Schools are the county's largest employer, and Ashley Furniture is the second largest. There are students who still choose virtual learning (after Covid), and some are homeschooled, or go to charter schools. Davie High is at 95-98% capacity. Challenges are staffing, and housing for families moving into the area. He spoke regarding the All-American City Award nomination and  the students that will represent Davie County.  b. Fiscal Year 2023-2024 Budget - Town Manager. Andrew Meadwell  Town Manager. Andrew. Meadwell shared the proposed 2023-2024 Budget that willl be available for review at Town Hall and on the website. A Public Hearing is needed to adopt the proposed budget by) July 1. Council MemberMike. Emst made a motion to. set a Public. Hearingj for the June 13, 2023 Council Meeting. Council Member Mike Brannon seconded. the motion. The motion was approved by a vote of tbree (3) inj favor and none opposed.  7. Action Items  A. Agreement for Bahnson Lakes Stream Restoration Projects a. Town of Bermuda Run and Hillsdale Group b. Town of Bermuda Run and RISE C. Town of Bermuda Run and NC Fusion attached agreement with each respective property owner.  Staffr recommends action to allow the Town Manager and Town Attorney to negotiate and execute the    Council Member Mike Emst made ai motion to allow the Town Manager and Town Attorney to continue to megotiate and execute the agreements with each resbective properly owner: Council Member Mike Brannon seconded tbe motion. Zoning Text Amendment TA-2023-01  The purpose of this text amendment is to alter the application of the 10/70 provision on sites within the town. The text amendment proposes to remove the eligibility limitation to areas identified on the Future Land Use Map as Village Residential, Mixed-Use Center, Crossroads Commercial, and Enterprise The Planning Board voted 7-0 to approve the request at its May 17, 2023 meeting. All-American City Update - Davie County is ai top 20 fnalist and Council Member Melinda Szeliga, and Town ManagerAndrew. Meadvell will be in a group that will present in Denver; Colorado thej frst week in June, 2023. Delgates/prasenters will mainly be students from. Davie Respect Initiative, SURE, CTE, and Ignite Davie. C. Update - Blue. Heron Trail- Andrew Meadvel! sbared tbat items on tbe puncb list are being corrected and tbat D. Future. Land Use- - Jason. Epley witb. Bencbmark Planning is working with tbe Town Manager; Mayor; and Council E. Hall Walker. Annexation Petition Request- - Volamtary annexation on 2 pieces ofi property (63 acres) mear 9. Town Manager Comments - Andrew Meadwell shared that there are 2 openings on the TDA as Drew Stevens resigned. Also, there is an opening on the. ABC Board. Tal Brown's term expires at the end of 10.
