PERSONS BEFORE COUNCIL: Bath Tree Board Member Kate Lehman requested that Council approve the Tree Board to move forward with a. Division of Forestry Grant application. The Board was encouraged to apply by the Division ofForestry to replace certain invasive trees within the main thoroughfare ofTown. COMMUNICATION FROMI MAYOR: Appreciation was expressed for the diligence and industry shown by Bath employees during recent and ongoing inclement The Mayor read an email by Marianna Ruggiero which requested permission to allow Warm Springs Middle School students to use the Fairfax Green for a Poppy Project during the 2022 Memorial Day weekend. The project is fully funded and MOTION: To approve the Poppy Project as proposed by Marianna Ruggiero with the stipulation that at the project's end the poppies, stems and any other materials arei removed sO as not to interfere with mowing and property maintenance- Recorder Webster reported on her actions on the north Wilkes Street paving project. Thrasher Engineering Project Manager Randy Watson visited the site and has provided a preliminary cost estimate of $250,000.00. Webster has sent Daryl Cowles, Governor Justice's Representative in the Panhandle, all information provided her. Mr. Cowles has moved the request to the Governor's Office for Recorder Webster also showed Mr. Watson the WV DOH poorly maintained cross streets of Mercer and Union. No report at this time. 3. PLANNING COMMISSION: Next meeting is February 3, 2022. A Volunteer Application for membership to the Planning Commission has been received from MOTION: To appoint Dave O'Connel to the Bath Planning Commission- 4. RAIL/TRAIL: Progress reports have been submitted to the Town office. 5. STRBETSCAPE: Committee Co-Chair Pete Brown requested that the Committee be able to advertise a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for a Contract for Engineering Services. The WV DOH has asked that the Town obtain a contract for upcoming Streetscape Project design. The first Streetscape design task has been funded by a TA Design Grant.
