Administered to Christy Schafer Town Clerk, Cindy Poe administered the Oath of Office to newly-appointed Council Member Christy Schafer. She was then presented with her new: nameplate and seated with the other Council Members. A. Discuss Town Charter Revisions - There have been two resolutions amending the Town Charter since it was created. Thel language is lacking ins some portions of the charter regarding voting/Board of Elections. Ex. "Definition of RESIDENT" when it comes to voting. Last year's primary election was an $11,000 cost to the Town due to narrowing candidates from 5to 4. Very few municipalities of our size leverage a primary model B. Review list off funding requests/projects = "Wish List" for grants. $6 million toward quality of life, stormwater, wastewater. Town Managera and Mayor working on a draft list including pocket parks", C. Board Etiquette during meetings- Attorney Brian Williams reviewed Open Meetings Law and reminded Council to keep away froms sidebar conversations, communications from council should be open and transparent. This is especially important as we transition to video-recorded meetings. D. February Council Meeting-Recording-Upgrades to Council AV system. Monthly Town Council Meetings will Informationalltems for council elections. Bahnson Lakes, Riverwalk' Trail, Blue Heron Trail continuation. be recorded beginning in February. E. Council Training-March 6th-Save the date- NCI League of Municipalities providing training for new Council Pedestrian Ways- Bermuda Run East- Surveying to begin at the end of January connecting the Blue Heron Trail to Bermuda Run Drive up toi the Bermuda Run East Package Room. Includes speed tables at areas H. USPS Package Room- Ongoing problems with Package Room being overwhelmed with large packages that the USPS will not deliver to the homes. There isar new Post Master. Mayor Brannon (along with the Town Manager) will get involved; it's time to address the problems as package volume continues to increase; it's Members, including the required Ethics training. F.
