TOWN OF AURORA, NC BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS MINUTES January 4, 2021 Meeting  A regular meeting of the Aurora Town Board of Commissioners was held at 7:00 P.M. on Monday, January 4, 2021, at the Town Hall. Mayor Williams called the meeting to order with the  following present: Officials Present: Commissioners Present:  [X] Clif Williams, Mayor [X] Coley. Jordan [X] Brad Lee [X] Jeff Peed [X] Tina Taylor  Attendance:  [X] Judi Lannon -Town Clerk/Finance Officer (Quarantined-Via Teleconference), [X] Chuck Bonner - Public Works Director [X] Curt Hendrix - Recreation Coordinator [X] Various members of the public were in attendance  Mayor Williams led the Pledge of Allegiance and Commissioner Peed led in prayer.  A motion to approve the proposed Agenda was made by Commissioner. Jordan and seconded by  Commissioner Taylor with a 41 to Ovote.  There was no citizen participation during the public comment period.  The proposed minutes for the regular November 2, 2020 meeting were approved on a motion Under Old Business, Public' Works Director Chuck Bonner reported that work on the new The Town Clerk reported that the "Public Surplus Company" had been contacted regarding her diagnosis of COVID-19 and having to reschedule and that they would be happy to proceed with the Town's sale of surplus property once she and the Public Works Director were ready.  made by Commissioner Peed and seconded by Commissioner Jordan, with a 4to 0 vote.  electrical wiring had begun at the water treatment plant.  Under New Business, the Town Clerk provided the Board with information on the NC DEQ Division of Coastal Managements "North Carolina Resilient Coastal Communities Program". The program is designed to help coastal communities address barriers to coastal resiliency, conduct vulnerability assessment and develop projects to "shovel-ready" status. The Clerk will be submitting an application for the Town to participate ini the RCCP program through the collaborative "pro-bono"  services of the engineering firm of Rummel, Klepper and Kahl.  1    Under Staff Reports the Public Works Director Chuck Bonner gave a written report which The front window oft the blue Ford tractor was broken over the past weekend The Women's bathroom at the Community Center has had the drywall and commodes  included the following:  repaired  The Recreation Coordinator Curt Hendrix gave an oral report which included the following: Continuing the maintenance of the community garden area and the softball fields Still working on creating collaborative ideas with Snowden school faculty for once the  The Fossil Museum is still closed due to COVID kids will be able to get out and play  The Town Clerk reported that once she was over COVID and out of quarantine she would be finishing up the municipal audit with Larry Carpenter, CPA and would be focused on end ofy year tax  forms and producing the W2'sand 1099's.  Under Board Comments the Mayor gave an update on the Aurora Industrial Park project. The project engineer had the findings of the ACOE and DEQ sit visit in November. The usable "uplands" had been reduced to by roughly seven acres. The engineer has created an updated site plan that would now have to be reapproved but the project is moving forward. Once approved, the price of land could be  settled and they would begin selling lots to contractor companies.  There being no further business, the.
