Assistant, Kiawanna Thomas, and new Ag Educator, Whitney Watson, to Commission. Program C. Larry Westbrook, Westbrook Acres - Mr. Westbrook and his attorney, Dalton addressed the Commission regarding Westbrook. Acres becoming County property. Trammell, Attorney Bin Minter will meet with Mr. Trammell to confer on the matter. D. Amelia Griner, Caterpillar - Commissioner Tyrone Nelson moved to finance the balloon payment for the 923M Wheel Loader along with an extended warranty; seconded $64,533 Commissioner Thomas Mayo. All voted in favor and motion carried. E. Cindy Trojak - asked for permission to create an advisory committee for Wims Center. Commissioner Joe Lee Williams moved to create an advisory committee of 10 persons to include the County Manager and 1 representative from Stewart County Community Youth, Inc.,  Valley Plan  County  by    to Commission, with first reporting by October 2024 meeting;  for purposes of reporting Thomas Mayo. Stewart County Board of Family and Children Services - Vice Chair Arcola Scott moved to appoint Willie Staten to new term; seconded by Commissioner Tyrone Nelson. All voted in C. DaBBd  by  Thomas  Carole  B.'Stewart, County Clerk  Arcpla  Chair  wSut    Stewart County Board of Commissioners  Action Taken June 27, 2024  On Tuesday, June 25, 2024, the courthouse experienced the beginning of an issue with the air conditioning unit ceasing to work in all offices with the exception of the Tax Commissioner office. On June 26, 2024,Truman's Heating and Air came and replaced broken belts that drove the motor. The repairman, Erron, mentioned that his supervisor, Hunter, asked for an update from the County Manager on the decision of the Commission to purchase a new motor for the AC unit as the current one was burning bearings and going out. He also stated that once the motor goes out, the  courthouse would be without air conditioning period.  The County Clerk reported to the Commissioners the situation in light of the County Manager being out on vacation. Due to the emergency nature and the inclement weather, the purchase of a new motor for $3,500.00 plus  labor was approved by all commissioners.  Carole B.
