Minutes March 5, 2017 Recreation Board Meeting Chairman Jim Van Dyne called meeting to order 7:34 pm. Present were Tom Brown, Tom Roberts, Al Gesler, Township appointees, Kelly Majczyk school board representative and Tammy Benovic, commissioner. The minutes oft the December Meeting were accepted unanimously. Ms. Benovic remarked that she had seen Kathy Crotty (Maruka) recently and her health Calendar for Parks and Recreation were discussed. The schedule is currently planned: is improving. Opening Parks June 12th First Teen Dance June 16th Parks close with final day August 11h and this will be the date for the third and final teen dance. Second teen dance will be Monday July 3rd Two movies in the park, first June 30th at Napier Park, the second on August 18th in Also planned for the Fourth of July is the Bike Parade and Smith's Hot Dogs will be sold Ms. Benovic said the Gazeebo concerts in Beute Park will be every other Wednesday and that there was no way these concerts could avoid conflicting with some other concert series. She said the Harborcreek concerts will be every Wednesday, Eight Great Tuesday will be every week on Tuesday, and weekly street dances in the city will be every Thursday. Concerts would not work on Monday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday nights. Bands and dates will be posted on the Township website when determined. Ms. Benovic said the invitations to the Fourth of July parade are out and it is too soon Kelly Majczyk reported on the Little League. She said that it is early yet. April 29, 2017 park walk-through Present: Tom Roberts, Cathy Maruca, Kelly Majczyk, Brenda Tombaugh, Tammy Benovic and Jim Van Dyne Boat Ramp-- The recreation board found the beach particularly clean and the only issue was a tirel left near the Waste Management Tote but. Jim Van Dyne suggested that this may have washed up onto the beach and someone brought it up to the trash can. Lake Cliff Park-- Itwas noted that on the oldest remaining pieces of equipment, there remains a damaged tunnel which is about six feet offt the ground that was slated for replacement three years ago and there was supposed to be a replacement section in storage at thei township garage. Someone said thatit turned out that the section did not fit. As the piece is dangerous, iti is to be removed. The dayi is still undetermined-oking at Thursday. Also looking at if local vendors and crafts for kids to bringi in more of the community to this great function.
