Robert Pullen was absent. Also present: Danny Ziemer and Katie Sanders from The meeting was called to order by Vice-Chairman Bosanko at 9:05 a.m. in the conference room oft the Lumpkin County Administration Building, 99 Courthouse Minutes oft the May 14, 2024 meeting: Motion to approve was made by Ms. Smith the Assessor's office. Hill, Dahlonega, GA 30533. with a second by Ms. Armstrong. Voted 3-0 in favor. Old Business: None New Business: ACO Report: Mr. Ziemer went over the report with the Board. Most came from address changes and reviews due to the Tax Commissioner collecting delinquent taxes. Motion to approve was made by Ms. Smith with a Homestead. Exemptions: Motion to approve was made by Ms. Armstrong with a CUVA Applications: After review Ms. Armstrong made a motion to approve and CUVA Denials: The Board reviewed the applications which" were submitted with just one of the owners' signatures. The other property owners indicated they did not wish to enter into a covenant. Ms. Smith made a motion to deny based on not all owners signing the applications. Ms. Armstrong seconded. Board voted 3-0 to second by Ms. Armstrong. Voted 3-0 in favor. second by Ms. Smith. Voted 3-0 in favor. Ms. Smith seconded. Approved 3-0. deny. Lumpkin County Board of Assessors 99 Courthouse Hill, Suite C Dahlonega, GA 30533 (706)864-2433 CUVA Breach (Harold Seitz - 003-122): Ms. Sanders told the Board that the property owner has requested removal from the program to sell a portion of the property. On motion by Ms. Smith and seconded by Ms. Armstrong the Board voted to approve removal and forward the information to the Tax Commissioner. Mr. Ziemer updated the Board on the 2024 Notices. The last day to appeal is June 14, 2024. As ofMonday, June 10th, 66 appeals have been filed. Mr. Ziemer stated that the staff are doing a good job explaining the assessment notices to the taxpayers. He complimented Trina Jones on her ability to patiently explain the Mr. Ziemerinformed the Board that he, Ms. Sanders, Mr. Pullen, and Mr. Bosanko had attended CAVEAT in Athens where they learned about new legislation and ways to implement the changes in the office. Also, 3 of the staff are in class in Mr. Ziemer informed the Board that a new Board member, Mickey Clark, has been appointed by the Board ofCommissioners. He is scheduled to take his oath before the Clerk of Courts on June 19th. Afterwards his information will be given to the Department ofRevenue and Ms. Sanders can schedule his first class.
