PAGE 1 60v001 ASSEMBLY Council of the Borough of Tarentum met in regular session on Monday, November 17, 2014, with Councilman President Tim Rappi Councilman Eric Carter; Councilman Mike Gutonski; Councilman Raymond Kerr; Councilman Tim Firko; and Councilman Pete Varos. Also present were Mayor Carl Magnettai Borough Manager William Rosseyi Solicitor Charles Clark; and Chief William Upon motion by Councilman Varos, seconded by Councilman Gutonski, RESOLVED, this Council approves the Minutes of the Regular Council All Council members present were in favor and the Councilman Rapp stated that due to personal reasons, he is resigning as President of Council. Upon motion by Councilman Rapp, seconded by Councilman Firko, RESOLVED, this Council approves the nomination, by Councilman Rapp, of Councilman Gutonski for President of Council. Councilman Gutonski asked for a report from the Mayor Magnetta stated for the month of October 2014, there were 428 calls for service which is a plus of 156 from 2013; action necessary 326; no action necessary 102; 26 arrests which is a plus 3 from 2013; 104 citations issued which is the same as 2013; total accidents 12 which is a plus 5 from 2013, accidents with injuries 0 which is the same as 2013; fines collected $3,484.85 which is a minus $1,273.08 from 2013; fines collected for year $39,635.43 which is a minus $16,098.00 from 2013; parking tickets issued 97 which is a Mayor Magnetta stated on September 13, he performed a marriage ceremony and no fee accepted. On September 26, a marriage ceremony was performed and no fee accepted. Recreation Board by the couple. REMARKS: COUNCILMAN GUTONSKI REMARKS: CHIEF VAKULICK Chief of Police. Chief Vakulick stated a final draft of the agreement between the School District and the Borough for the School Resource Officer Program is being reviewed by the District. He stated he would like to begin the program on December 1, A discussion was held regarding the agreement and whether to begin it before the agreement is 2014. REMARKS: COUNCILMAN GUTONSKI REMARKS: BOROUGH MANAGER ROSSEY Borough Manager Rossey stated Wednesday morning at 9:00 a.m., about 25 trees will be planted in the park. Everyone is welcome to come and help. He stated the COG dinner will be held December 5th and the Allegheny County Borough Association dinner will be held December 11th. Councilman Firko stated Highland Hose report for September 2014, there were 7 fire calls; man hours of 17.5; 2 training sessions; and 80 man hours. Highland Hose report for October 2014, there were 12 fire calls; 450 man hours; 3 training sessions; and 105 man hours. Eureka Fire Rescue report for October 2014, 18 calls representing 42 personnel hours; 229 EMS calls representing 868 personnel hours; and 51 total training hours. Upon motion by Councilman Kerr, seconded by Councilman Carter, RESOLVED, this Council grants the Women of the Moose #296 permission to hold their annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 4, 2015, starting at 9:00 a.m. SHARP and to close All Council members present were in favor and the Mayor Magnetta stated the Recreation Board had a very successful Boo Fest for the children held on October 25th in the Borough building. He stated the annual Tarentum/Brackenciage Christmas parade will be held this coming Saturday at 1:00 p.m. He stated instead of Christmas in the Park, the Recreation Board will hold a Christmas on Corbet 1st Avenue during this event. resolution was adopted. Mr. Bowser, West Tarentum, asked the status of Gillette's work and if Gillette is being fined. CINDY HOMBURG Ms. Homburg stated she has a friend who lives on short street and has been having a lot of medical problems and has nurses coming everyday to the house and they're having a hard time getting in and out of the driveway due to people parking on both sides of the street and asked if it would be possible if people could park on one side of the street sO the nurses and doctors could get in and out of the neighbor's house. Councilman Gutonski stated he respects the decision of Councilman Rapp to resign as President of Council. He thanked Councilman Rapp for the time that he put in as President of Council and stated he will do everything in his power to keep up the integrity of the position as Councilman Gutonski stated Council members received a copy of the budget for review.
