Cindy Homberg reminded everyone that the Ghost Tour at Prospect Cemetery will 2. Sandy Collins questions about what the Borough is going to do with abandoned properties. She stated that there are approximately 75 properties she asked if the Tim Cornuet told Ms. Collins that there is a motion on the agenda this evening to pass Ordinance 16-02 pertaining to vacant properties. Ms Collins also asked about delinquent property taxes. Carrie Fox stated that Karen Marietti, Tax Collector has been sending out Warning Letters and has been collecting more delinquent taxes and she Karen Marietti, upon Carrie Fox's request reported that there as been more money coming in with the new letters that were approved by Council and the solicitor. 3. Regina Prokopczuk asked if the county would give a discount ifthel Borough put a lot ofhouses up for Sheriff Sale, Borough Manager Mike Gutonski told her no. 4. Martin Bertolino questioned what was going to be done with the side of the building at 215 Corbet St since the Borough could not get the grant to purchase the property. PRESIDENTS REPORT: Nothing at this time MAYORS REPORT: Nothing at this time POLICE CHIEFS REPORT: 1. Chief Vakulick stated that in March he applied to the USDA for a grant to purchase two (2) new police vehicles in the amount of $69,000.00. He stated due to the state not passing the budget in 2015 the grant amount received was actually $39,700.00. 2. Chief Vakulick stated that the Police Dept would be purchasing two (2) 2016 Ford Interceptor AWD SUV's in the amount of $55,462.44 with the grant of $39,700.00 and the sale of the 2014 Impala to Carlow College in the amount of$13,000.00. MANAGERS REPORT: Manager Gutonski reported: storage tank 1. The work on water storage tank #3 is complete and work is being done #2 water 2. Manager Gutonski stated that Andreas, since the weather will be changing soon, would like to paint and complete the restoration to the outside only of #1 water storage tank. 3. Manager Gutonski stated that there is $400,000.00 is left in the bond account and $150,000.00 will be needed to pay on the remaining tank. The inside work for #1 tank 4. Manager Gutonski asked that a motion be made by the Water Committee to approve 5. Manager Gutonski stated he received a call for both the DEP and Army Corps of Engineers regarding the boat docks and that the Borough is in violation for some laws. The Borough has never been approached by either party regarding these violations in prior years. There are permits needed for each dock and the permits are expensive. Mr. Gutonski contacted Brackenridge Boro and they are faced with the same situation. They have leased out each dock and each dock lease is required to obtain the permits. Greg 6.1 Manager Gutonski stated that the bids received last month for the digger truck were too low and last month Council voted on re-advertising the digger truck with the lowest bid being $2,500.00 and advertise for the sale of a trailer. The sale of the property at 134 W 7th Ave had to be rescinded due to all the County Property Taxes that are owed and should have been removed. He asked for permission to go before the county to ask for forgiveness oft the property taxes. A discussion held regarding what should be put in the advertisement and when Council should interview and hire. The decision was to state in the advertisement the wage of $17.00 per hour and the requirements for the position 4. Former CEO Chris Fabec will do building permits until the new CEO is trained.
