Borough ofTarentum Regular Council Meeting July 5th 2016  Callt to order/ pledge allegiance  Roll call- Vice President Josefoski and Councilwoman Dzugan absent.  Motion: Councilman Cornuet 2nd Councilman Varos to accept minutes from the. June 7th council meeting  with corrections. Motion passed.  Citizens Comments: citizen commented on prospect cemetary picinic...Dave Rankin  commented on the. Allegheny county free lunch program.  Presidents report: nothing at this time  Mayors report: calls to service 487.. action necessary 266... no action necessary 221...arrests 18... citations 52... total accidents 10... accidents with injuries 0 ...fines collected 5,213.20 fines collected for the year 19,522.44...also commented on the borough being awarded $200,000 dollars grant for the Grandview playground and the great work being done on the west 6th avenue playground...also commented on the borough office being closed al half hour for Motion: Councilman Schmitt 2nd Councilman Cornuet tol have a survey sent out to residents  lunch. A discussion ensued.  pertaining to the office lunch times. Motion passed. Police chiefs report: nothing at this time  Managers report: We are going tol be re-advertising bids for the 4th ave. bridge project on august Sth, ,18h and September 2nd and opening bids septemberl5th at 3:00pm. also Commented Solicitors report: discussed appraisal for the 4tha ave. parking lot also commented on the new  on the water tank storage projects.  ordinance for property cleanup and the ongoing Grohl lawsuit.  Committee reports:  Administative and employee relations,finance:  Motion: Councilman Schmitt 2nd Councilwoman Fox to pay June bills. Motion passed.  Water:  Motion: Councilman Varos 2nd Councilwoman Fox, to approve payment #2 to Andreas painting  ini the amount of $96,475 for water storage tank #3. Motion passed.    Electric: Chairperson Carrie Fox turned over her report to Solicitor Clark.. Solicitor Clark  commented on the status and safety ofthe Electric and Water meters Motion: Councilman Schmitt gave an update on the 2016 paving projects.  Streets and Sanitary Sewers:  Public safety and civil service: Management coordinator. Motion passed.  Motion: Councilman Schmitt 2nd Councilman Varos to remove Tim Firko as the Emergency Motion: Councilman Schmitt 2nd Councilwoman Fox to appoint Tim Cornuet as the new (Point oforder: Solicitor Clark stated that Mr. Cornuet abstained from voting on this motion.)  Emergency Management coordinator. Motion passed.  Councilman Schmitt also gave fire reports.  Mayor also commented on the vandalism taking place at the boat docks and park area....he stated that he will be meeting with the Police Chief to address this problem. Solicitor Clark expanded on his previous comments pertaining to the electric meters. He stated that the meters are equipped with automatic shut off sensors that shut the meters off when the reach a certain temperature and that they are completely safe and doing what they are supposed  to do.  Parksand Recreation: basketball courts.  Councilwoman Fox commented on how hard everyone has worked on the west 6th ave. Also thanked all those involved in making this project a big success.....also commented on the  success oft the farmers market and the summer concert series.  Property and Zoning, Library and Health:  Motion: Councilman Cornuet 2nd Councilman Varos to advertise the sale of423 4th ave. and set  the minimum bid at the appraised amount of $35,000 dollars. Motion passed.    AVN/COG: KOZ: Nothing at this time Redevelopment and Revitalization: Nothing at this time Citizens Comments: about the park.  Councilwoman Fox mentioned that she attended the latest cog meeting.  Councilwoman Fox commented on the status oft the Riverview Park permit. Manager Gutonski discussed the changes made to the permit. A discussion continued about the positive feed back Motion: Councilwoman Fox 2nd Councilman Cornuet to approve the park permit with  amendments stated. Motion passed.
