Chief William Vakulick, Manager Michael Gutonski President commented on Executive Session regular Council meeting, motion passed 7-0 Motion by Pete Varos, second by Carrie Fox, to approve minutes from the May 3, 2016 CITIZEN COMMENTS: Mary Bowlin from the Hope Center would like to purchase 4101 E gth Ave to expand their offices and open a small retail second hand store. She asked what the next step would be toi meet Borough regulations. Discussion was held and Ms. Bowlin was informed that the property would need rezoned. Manager Gutonski told her that she can stop in the office Cindy Homberg 5381 E 10th Ave, Tarentum made an announcement that there would bea a Community Picnic at Prospect Cemetery July 23, 2016 at 10:00 am. There will be tours Pam Wray, 1027 Freeport Rd, Natrona Heights, inquired about Grandview Playground Grants for rehab. She asked who owns the playground and that Grandview PTO had approximately $1,300.00 raised for rehab. Councilwoman Fox told her that playground is owned by Tarentum Borough, but is leased to Highlands School District. Mayor Magnetta told her that grants had been applied for, but due to the 2015 PA State Budget not being passed, the money has not been released, he told her that the money the PTO and he can explain what she would need to do to move: forward. and history oft the cemetery. has will help when any grants come through. PRESENTATION; Pitt Specialty Supply located on Allegheny St, owners Don Yoest and Matt Plocki, presented a proposal to expand their business and requested to purchase the 4th Ave parking lot, which is owned by Tarentum Borough. They would also like to include a retail store and showroom to the new building. They have approached Central Presbyterian Church regarding additional parking for their employees and they gave them permission. Solicitor Clark stated the sale of the parking lot will have to be by bid, the Borough cannot directly sale the lot to Pitt Specialty Supply. 1 PRESIDENTS REPORT: None at this time MAYORS REPORT: Mayor Magnetta read the Police Dept Calls for Service Report Calls for Service 448, Action Necessary 252, No Action Necessary 196, Arrests 23, Citations Issued 44, Total Accidents 10, Accidents with Injuries 2, Fines Collected $2,987.45, Fines collected for the year $14,308.927, Parking Tickets Issued 11. Mayor Magnetta requested council grant permission to Abundant Joy to use the band shell atl Riverview Park. July 15 & 16, 2016. The hours will be. July 15 4:00-10:00 pm and July 16 12:00-10:00. They requested to block 1"*Ave, electric and to have the restrooms Mayor Magnetta requested council grant permission to Quinn's Walk for Hope to use the band shell at the park. They will hold a walk beginning at 5:30 pm July 23, 2016 at the gazebo in Brackenridge to end at the band shell. This walk is held by families who have Mayor Magnetta stated that he has received many calls regarding billing, electric meters running hot and why the office is closed between 12:00-12:30 for lunch. The application would include fees in the amount of$75.00 for electric, $25.00 for water, $150.00 if 1st Ave would need blocked off and a $25.00 permit application fee would be assessed. Mayor Magnetta requested a break on the fees for Tarentum Residents and all non profit organizations not be charged.
