AGENDA MEETING 6:00PM APRIL 5TH 2016 Discussion: Mayor Magnetta and various members of Council discussed the pros and cons of moving the farmers market from the Presbyterian parking lot located at E10th ave. and lock st. to Corbet St. between 3rd and 4th avenues. Discussion: Vice president Erika Josefoski discussed the possibility ofa allowing Bill Coffman to amend his request to use the park and bandshell area on June 4th.c Councilwoman Fox suggested Council deny his request due to the legal ramifications (outlined by Solicitor Clark )that may occur. Council agreed to add this to the agenda for tonights meeting. Discussion: Manager Gutonski discussed per the original hiring agreement that Phil Davidek be moved from part time to full time effective march 1st. Phil passed his test to be qualified as a Code enforcement officer. Discussion: upon Solicitor Clarks recommendation, tabling the motion to place fees on persons applying for a handicapped parking sign. Discussion: Various Council members discussed the properties located at 314 west 7th ave and 301 west 12"h ave...determining minimum bids and advertising of properties. Mayor Magnetta ask about the status of the Pracko property located at 316 west 7th ave. Mayor Magnetta feels Council should ask solicitor Clark to look into the condemnation process or tax sale of property. Council Agreed to add this to the agenda for tonights meeting. Borough ofTarentum Regular Council Meeting April 5th 2016 Call to order/ pledge allegiance Roll call-absent Greg Schmitt and Bill Rossey, work. Chief Vakulick Motion: councilman Varos 2nd councilwoman Fox, to approve March 191 council meeting. Comments, Mayor Magnetta ask why his report was not in the minutes. Manager Gutonski ask for Patience while we get adjusted to recording minutes. Motion passed. Mr. Keith Mack, owner of F-Squared inc. gave council a pamphlet on proposed parking lot and ex pressed the need for an egress to get out onto lock st. Also proposed to purchase the borough owned parking lot which is currently located beside hometown restaurant. He stated he needs to expand his business.Manager Gutonski stated this was not the original discussion he had with Mr. Mack prior to the meeting. Mayor Magnetta stated that a decision could not be made at this time. Solicitor Clark stated that in order to sell any property that it would have to be put out for bid. Citizens Comments: Larry Troutman ask about the status of215 corbet st. Manager Gutonski and Counci/woman Fox gave updates on that property as well as Grandview playground grant. Once started it will take Approx. 61 months to The West 7th avenue water line project had preliminary camera work done, this will be a very expensive project costing approx.585,000.00 dollars to complete. .Still working on the interconnection agreement with west penn power. The original agreement was voted down due to the fact it was not a good contract for Tarentum Borough. Itis an agreement that needs to get done and solicitor Clark did find a similar agreement with another community that may work for Tarentum. I am in the process ofreviewing it and will have more info for next meeting. This is an agreement that is required by the state..... Jim Bowser, Can you tell me about what is happening with the Marcella shell and why couldn't we install a wind farm up on the KOZ site. Also, who looked at 217 Corbet st. to say how much the property was worth.... Manager Gutonski, the property was appraised..resident Hugh Fox, there was a previous study done at the KOZ for a wind farm and it was determined there wasn'tenough wind for that. Mr. Fox also stated he thought moving the farmers market was a good idea. Councilman Varos stated that st. margarets hospital has a program for seniors 60 and over..they will bring a bus to your home free of charge and take you to the Dr's, grocery store etc. contact st. margarets for more info.
