Motion carried. Mr. Osman abstain. Correspondence: None Citizens Reports: Lori Weisend- 426 George Street-Children in the area has been causing damage to her property and leaving trash in her yard. Can the parents of the children be given a citation for their actions? Answer: Yes, they can. Page 3 Beth Hamill- 1413 Maple Avenue-Thanked Council for having Maple Avenue paved. Will there be a Christmas Light Up the Creek this year? Ms. Henkel is still deciding if it will take place this year. Asked Mayor Forgie if CONNECT resource could help the community. Answer: Mayor Forgie said he would look into CONNECT. Committee Reports: Mr. Bianchi- Ordinance #1153-Repealing Ordinance #837- Establishing new regulations related to Street Openings and Restoration, authorizing to charge permit fees and establish bonding requirements. Motion Ms. Henkel, Mr. Spencer approving Ordinance #1153, Street Opening, Restoration, permit fees and Bonding. Motion carried. The Borough is applying for CD Year 50. Two concurring resolutions required. First resolution is paving in the Stewart Street area. Second resolution for Catch Basins in various locations around town. Motion Mrs. Tinsley, Ms. Henkel approving the two concurring resolutions for CD Year 50. Motion carried. The following are the dates for the 2024 Budget meetings: The 2024 Budget Public hearing is on Monday, November 20, 2023, The 2024 Tentative Budget meeting will be held on Monday, December 18, 2023 and the Final Budget meeting will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2023. Some longtime volunteers will not be returning next year. Ifinterested in volunteering a meeting will be held on November 14, 2023. Mr. Nolan- None Mr. Spencer- The 5 years handicapped parking spot renewals are as 921 Lynn Avenue, which has a handicap spot in the vicinity, has follows: submitted all the required documents. Motion Ms. Henkel, Mr. Osman approving the renewal of the handicap spot in the vicinity of 921 Lynn Ave. Question: Anyone that has the proper documents can park in the spot. Now that Maple Avenue has been paved the committee will be investigating on the adding additional stop signs along Maple Avenue. The Committee findings will be announced at the next Council meeting. The Civil Service will be conducting a Police test on November 14, 2023. Page 6 Police and Public Safety Mayor Forgie- The State Police are responding to all 3rd Shift calls. Once hiring occurs the State Police will no longer be needed. Upcoming meeting with EOS Energy will be held at the Woodland Hills High School on November 28 at 5:30p.m. This is a community meeting explaining how EOS can support the local towns. Last week I attended at meeting regarding the proposed National Museum of Broadcasting. Looking for funding and location is in East Pittsburgh at the old bank.
