Council Meeting June 5, 2023  Page 2  Turtle Creek Borough regular monthly meeting held on June 5, 2023 was called to order by President  Nick Bianchi who led the Pledge of Allegiance.  Roll Call: President Bianchi-present Mr. Estocin-absent Ms. Henkel-present Mr. Nolan-present Solicitor-present  Mr. Osman-present Mr. Spencer-present Mrs. Tinsley-present Mayor Forgie-present  Daniel Lore part time Officer was sworn in by Mayor Forgie. Approval oft the May 2023 minutes as submitted.  Motion  Mr. Spencer, Mr. Osman approving the May 2023 minutes as submitted. Motion carried. Correspondence: Turtle Creek' Valley Rotary Club is holding their annual Turtle Trot 5KI Run and' Walk to  be held on Saturday,J July 29, 2023. There are four levels ofs sponsorship:  Platinum Level $1,000.00 Gold Level Silver Level $ 250.00 Bronze Level $ 125.00  $ 500.00  Motion  Mr. Spencer, Mr. Nolan approving the Silver Level Sponsorship at $250.001 to the Turtle Creek  Valley Rotary Club. Motion carried.  Tri-COG Land Bank submittal for 928 Sycamore Street.  Motion  Ms. Henkel, Mrs. Tinsley approving the submittal of 928 Sycamore Street to the Tri COG Land  Bank. Liz Devich- 109 7th Street-Thanked Council for having the No Parking sign reinstalled as requested at the Bonnie McClain- 500 Hunter Street-Came tot the meeting tonight to make Council aware of the height of crime in the area at the Frazer Hall on Hunter Street. Vehicles have been broken into and equipment stolen from a storage area. Since iti is a public safety issue would like additional patrols in the area and Mr. Bianchi stated that the Mayor and Police Chief are here tonight and will act on your concerns. The Allegheny County Housing Police need to be also notified oft these concerns. Mr. Bianchi stated that the Borough is down to one employee on the street department sO project around town have been delayed. The owner of 750-802 Jones Avenue will be notified. Ms. Marshall-500 Hunter Street-She stated that police reports were file (with ACHA) and no one has Mayor Forgie stated that he and officials can arrange to come to Frazer Hal to talk with residents about Pat Cottrell-627 George Street-Reporting that her neighbor at 625 George Street has tires and junk cars  been notified by the police of the outcome for their reports.  how to be safe.  in their driveway. Committee Reports:  Mr. Bianchi-The Borough has received a $50,000.00 grant for playground equipment from Senator Brewster. The Borough received a $100,000.00 grant for the restoration of Maple Avenue, will be meeting with the Borough Engineer. Early estimate for the restoration is around $200,000.00. Sidewalks are being done around the Borough Building as we were cited by ouri insurance carrierto  complete these repairs. There willl be a need ofa a change order.    Page 4  Ms. Henkel- None Mr. Osman- None  Mrs. Tinsley-The Community Garden has almost everything planted. Early Spring crops are starting to grow. There will be no farm stand until the garden is has harvest. Once harvest the garden stand will be on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10am to 2pm. The garden is always looking for volunteers. The Borough has some issues with the vault that services the playground and garden. In the next month  a new vault will be installed at no cost to the Borough.  Mr. Nolan- None  M.Spencer-Received an application for al handicap spot in the vicinity of 345 George Street. The property has adequate off-street parking, a two- car garage. The request is denied.  Motion  Mr. Spencer, Mr. Osman approving the denial. Mr. Osman question: Is the property on Mr. Bianchi-yes Mr. Spencer-yes Ms. Henkel-no Mr. Osman-No, Mrs. Tinsley-no, Mr.  aslope. Others  3 29 3 12 13 8 323  Mayor Forgie, Ms. Henkel and the Volunteer Fire Department cleaned all the monuments in town and Solicitor- Oral arguments in front of the. Judge tomorrow regarding the Zonir ng appeal for 828 Maple  painted the flag pole at the one monument.  Avenue. Old Business:  Mr. Spencer, Ms.Henkel, ratifying the action taken by the Borough. Administrator in the  payment oft the May 2023 bills int the amount of $509,207.26. Motion carried.  New Business: None  Mrs. Tinsley, Mr. Nolan adjourning until the next Council meeting.
