Council Meeting March 6, 2023 Page 2 Turtle Creek Borough regular monthly meeting held on March 6, 2023 was called to order by President Nick Bianchi who led the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll Call: President Bianchi-present Mr. Estocin-present Ms. Henkel-present Mr. Nolan-present Solicitor-present Mr. Osman-present Mr. Spencer-present Mrs. Tinsley-absent Mayor Forgie-present Approval oft the February 2023 minutes as submitted. Motion Mr. Estocin, Mr. Spencerapproving the February 2023 minutes as submitted. Motion carried. Correspondence: None Citizens Report: Philip Catalano- 824 Maple Avenue- Parents are parking on the sidewalks at the bus stop on the corner of Maple Avenue and Pine Street. Vehicles are doing damage to the sidewalks and continually leave litter behind. Asked ifs some no litter and no parking signs bei installed. Poliçe Chiefa and Mayor willl look into the parking matter and Council will take the requested for signs into consideration. Wants to know where the process is for the permit for the Sober Living house next door to him. Mr. Evashavik. stated the Zoning Board denied the application and the applicant has appealed the decision. Teresa Trich- Introduced herself to council as the new Director of Development for the Braddock Carnegie Library with a satellite location at the Human Services Center on Penn Avenue. at Negley Avenue under the trestle. The Street Department will be notified. Anna Lawson- 376 Highland Avenue-If it would be possible to take of some potholes on Osborne Street Page 3 Committee Reports: Mr. Bianchi- The sidewalk replacement around the Borough building will start soon. The repair to catch basins around town is on track to start this month. Henkel- None Mr. Osman- None Mr. Estocin- None Mr. Nolan- None Mr. Spencer- The Borough has received a grant from Allegheny County for up to $20,000.00 to purchase Police body cameras. Arequirement oft the grant is fori the Borough to adopt al body camera policy. Motion Mr. Spencer, Ms. Henkel to adopt ast the policy is written for the Police Department to read, understand and sign off( Acknowledgement, on the policy. Question: Are we comfortable that the policyi is not going to change and any changes willl be negotiable. Motion carried. The Mayor supports this policy. Police and Public Safety: Mayor Forgie- Thanked Council for the approval of the Body Camera policy. The Litter walk cleanup will be starting up soon. The following are the days: April 5+,19"h and town wide on April 22"d. school on Monroeville Avenue. Chief's Report for February 2023: Total Incidents Total Lockups Traffic Suspicious Person March 15th and 22"d. The Borough will be receiving 10 more trees from Tree Vitalize. AI meeting will be scheduled with officials from the Propel East to discuss the dismissal process at the 424 9 66 10 .
