Motion carried. Correspondence: Turtle Creek Valley Rotary Club is holding their 30th Annual Turtle Trot 5K run/walk on July 30, 2022 and asking the Borough for a sponsorship. Platinum Level-$1,000.00 Gold Level-$500.00 Silver Level-$250.00 Bronze Level-$100.00 Motion Ms. Nolan, Mr. Osman approving $250.00 sponsorship for the Turtle Trot. Motion carried. Resolution #709-22 the acquisition and disposition of lot and block number 455-B-349 for the Allegheny County Vacant Property program. 3 Motion Mrs. Henkel, Mrs. Tinsley approving Resolution #709-22 for the Vacant Property Program. President Bianchi turned the meeting over to Ms. Henkel to introduce a Ms. Henkel introduced Rick Fosbrink the CEO of Westinghouse Arts Academy and the Executive Director for the Turtle Creek Valley Arts. Rick Fosbrink-Turtle Creek Valley Arts is a new organization in the building known as the Castle in Wilmerding. Also known as the GO (General Operating Building for Westinghouse). The building was purchased and renovation are now in progress. Funding was received by Westinghouse Corporate and a gift from a foundation. TCV Arts will have guest. community and adult base education in the evenings. Citizens Reports: Rodrick Wilson-Propel School Resource Officer, Propel School would like to have signage installed near Propel School. Signed to be considered School Zone, 15 mph and one way. Make area one way during school drop offs and pickups. Propel will pay for all the necessary costs. Mr. Bianchi stated the Borough will take the request in to consideration. To place signs an ordinance might need to be completed. The process needs to be completed correctly sO the signs can be enforced. Mayor stated maybe some security officers would help. Ron Gehry-1212 Chestnut Street stated the WHSD area for the football field grounds need cut. Also stated that a lot of vehicles are speeding on Mr. Bianchi stated that the Borough would notify the School District. He also asked the Police and Public Safety Committee look into the speeding Chestnut Street. on Chestnut Street. 4 Pastor Gwendolyn Ratliff-130 Grant Street Church, The church will be holding a Total Body Expo on August 12 and 13, 2022 from 9-3. Asking for permission from council to use the Borough parking lot for the UPMC Mr. Bianchi asked if she has considered asking the owner of the Plaza to use their lot. The Borough would give her permission to use the Borough Oyan Anthony Greene-Albert Street IV would like to have a business, lemonade stand but was shut down. Our law also requires a permit to operate. That is our law and we require all our residents to follow our laws. Utilities get a permit but don't always complete the restoration within the required two years. We would like to set a time limit to complete the necessary restoration. Mr. Nolan - none Mrs. Tinsley-The Community Garden off of James Street, Home Plate Garden farm stand is now open on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10a.m. until 12p.m. by donations. The Braddock and Monroeville library are holding reading events on Wednesday. She asked for council's 5 permission to run a sprinkler for the kids. We will need to make a transfer of $89,983.00 either from the Sinking Fund or from the Federal Allocation. Police and Public Safety: Mayor Forgie: Mayor Forgie read the Chiefs reports for May 2022 Chiefs Report for May 2022: Total Incidents Total Lock-Ups Traffic Suspicious Persons Theft Stolen Vehicles & Gun 3 Wanted persons Transports to ACJ Domestics Overdose Investigations Juvenile compl/missing 13 Detail Patrols Ordinance Violations 576 6 74 19 7 3 4 38 2 6 45 49 6 Mayor Forgie has been in discussions with a company regarding Shot Spotters. Ittracks gun fire within 80 Feet. The system is very expensive. Maybe we can reach out to the COG and other Municipalities to lower the cost. The system can tell the difference between gun fire and fireworks. Mayor Forgie sent a letter of support for Tree Vitalization that was brought to his attention by a resident of Turtle Creek. They will provide trees for Solicitor Report: The 50 year agreement with Wilkinsburg Penn Joint Water Authority is expiring. Council will need to approve another the town. ordinance for 50 more years. Old Business: Ratifying payment of the June 2020 bills in the amount of $559,919.85 with ALCOSAN payment the highest in the amount of $348,618.93. Motion Mr. Spencer, Mr. Nolan ratifying the action taken by the Borough Administrator in the payment of the June 2022 bills in the amount of $559,919.85. Motion carried.
