Penatzer, Mayor Eric Miller, Electrician Robert McCormick, Street Commissioner Thomas Susko, Electric Secretary/Tax Collector Karmen Baumgardner, Daniel Beyer (The EADS Group), Ron Portash (Mainline Newspapers) and Nicole The minutes were approved, by a motion from Joni Trovato, second by Russell Jones; unanimous The financial statements were approved by a motion from Russell Jones, second by Joni Trovato; By amotion from Becky Templeton, the bills were approved, second by Joni Trovato; Bodenschatz at 7:00pm, with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Correspondence: A letter was received from Nicole Crowell regarding the open Council position. Bya motion from Becky Templeton, Mrs. Crowell was approved, second by Joni Trovato; unanimous approval. Mayor Eric Miller swears in Mrs. Crowell, she then takes her place on Council. The minutes were received and reviewed from the Forest Hills Municipal Authority, from their There were no: minutes from Laurel Municipal Inspection Agency, with one permit issued. The was no agenda again from Forest Hills Regional Alliance, with the next meeting to bel held The Croyle Township Police Department report was received for the month of August with eight July 2018 meeting. in Summerhill Borough on the 20th of this month, at 7:00pm. incidents reported. Old Business: There were three delinquent light accounts, no certified letters to be sent out, with one of those By ar motion from Russell Jones, The EADS Group will send the authorization for easement letters to twenty-two: residents, whose property touches where the sidewalk project will affect, second by Brad Bodenschatz; unanimous approval. The letters must be back in and signed by October 15th, therefore, there will be a meeting for those: residents who received the letters on September 10th at' 7:00pm at the municipal building, to discuss any questions they may have. Utility poles will also need tol be moved, that are in the way of the sidewalk project. Electrician Robert McCormick will work with the Street Committee to see which poles need moved. already being shut off. The Welcome signs remain pending. The "Little Library" has been erected and there is an over abundance of books being donated. Not quite sure what to do with all the books.... ..any suggestions?W... The guiderail project on West Jackson has been completed. The motion sensor/timer for the lights and fan at the playground bathroom have been installed, along with the unisex sign being placed outside, and the sink not being able to be corrected due to the idea of the sink not being ADA compliant. It was the consensus of Council to just fix the sink for now, with the Street Commissioner to order new: faucets from the Long Barn. Street Commissioner Thomas Susko reports that to coat the upstairs floor with poxy or something is too small of aj job for a larger company, but he will check with Ronald Lazration for suggestions or to see if Penn Installations would help out in some way. New Business: Street Commissioner Thomas Susko also reports that he is struggling to keep all the grass cut, due to his laborer quitting. He questions Council ifl his brother can be hired tol help out until someone else can fill the position. Byai motion from Brad Bodenschatz, Brian Susko is to be hired for help for now and an ad will be placed in the Portage Dispatch for the open position, second by Russell Jones; unanimous approval. Minutes of 08/14/18 Page 3of4 Council briefly discusses the purchase of the Bantley property on Bridge Street, but quickly decides it would be too costly, due tot the fact that it would need tol be torn down first. The property of] Heidi Golden, 764 Second Avenue, will be sent to Codes for a high grass violation. The olds S&TBank property will also be given a call to get their grass cut. Mayor Eric Miller reports that there will be a meeting on Act 152; Blighted Properties, on September 29th from :30pm-4:00pm, in Ebensburg, which he will attend and report back to By ai motion from Russell Jones, Street Commissioner Thomas Susko is given an allowance, not to exceed three hundred dollars, to purchase signs, for back Old 53, for the brush pile and the Street Commissioner Thomas Susko questioned Council ifh he could attend classes through the Pennsylvania Recreation and Park Society. He stated that the municipality would need to be members to get the lower rate for the classes. The rate will be looked into and brought back to Galan George who owns the storage trailers in Summerhill, would like to donate a 20' trailer, year-round, free of charge. Byar motion from Terri Washko, it is approved, only while it remains at no cost, second by Russell Jones; unanimous approval. The trailer will stay down along SR53, The fire department is doing seal coating for their parking lot, with Council agreeing for the Street Commissioner to get separate estimates for the front lot and the back lot of the municipal A timer will also be installed in the men'sr room at the municipal building by the electrician, The previous tax collector's computer has been returned and isi in the office at the municipal building.
