Meeting February 13, 2018 The regular monthly meeting for Summerhill Borough Council was opened by President Daryl Council members present; Brad Bodenschatz, Daryl Bodenschatz, Russell. Jones, Becky Bodenschatz at 7:00pm, with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Templeton and Joni Trovato. Others present; Secretary/Ireasurer Laura L. Penatzer, Mayor Eric Miller, Street Commissioner Thomas Susko, Electrician Robert McCormick, Electric Secretary/Tax Collector Karmen Baumgardner, Daniel Beyer (The EADS Group), Ron Portash (Mainline Newspapers) and Robert Robert Wozny questioned Council ifhe could have some extra time to get his car inspected or moved, in order to avoid a fine for being in violation oft the Junk Ordinance. It was the consensus of Council to give him thirty extra days to come in compliance with the ordinance. The minutes from the reorganization meeting were approved by a motion from Joni Trovato, The regular minutes were approved by ai motion from Joni Trovato, second by Russell Jones; The financial statements were approved by ai motion from Russell Jones, second by Joni Trovato; Councilman Joni Trovato questions about the purchase ofas snow blower. Street Commissioner Thomas Susko remarks that the old one broke, we were: in dire need ofai new one and it was purchased. The correction ofbills was reviewed, with no questions. The budgets for the end of the year were at 100% and at 9% for the end ofJanuary. There will be a meeting on February 215t at 0800 hours with Penn DOT to go over fees, in Hollidaysburg, 1620 Juniata Street, with Permit Manager Nicole! McCombie. The Liquid Fuels monies can also be applied to the grant. Once the surveyis complete, the design process will be started. Mr. Beyer will keep Council informed. Mr. Beyer has also informed Council ofa park grant, up to $250,000.00, with a 15% match, that the grant period opens now through May 31S. You can apply for any amount and for any park setting. He speaks of sending a survey out to the public for their input, as to what their ideas/interests would be, thus this would also meet the DCNR requirements. After some discussion, a motion was made by Becky Templeton to move forward with the grant and plans for the project, second by Brad Bodenschatz; unanimous approval. Becky Templeton also moved to: make a motion to send out a survey to all the residents regarding the park grant, to bej printed and mailed by Damin Printing, second by Russell Jones; unanimous approval. Byai motion from Russell Jones, the truck will be advertised, as is, to the highest bidder, to be opened at the March meeting, second by Brad Bodenschatz; unanimous approval. New Business: A new committee list has been drafted and will be sent out to all of Council. Street Commissioner Thomas Susko reports that the floor upstairs continues to leak. Council agrees tol have him look into a Sikaflex seal for on the floor. Mr. Susko will keep Council updated. He also reports that the new plow truck has a gas filler issue and he will take the truck Mayor Eric Miller remarks on the great job that the Street Commissioner had done on the water issues around town.
