Meeting August 13, 2019 The regular monthly meeting for Summerhill Borough Council was opened by Vice President Council members present; Nicole Crowell, Russell Jones, Becky' Templeton, Joni Trovato and Others present; Secretary/Ireasurer Laura L. Correspondence: The minutes from the Forest Hills Municipal Authority were reviewed, with the consent of Council to get a copy of the Articles of Incorporation from 1972, to be reviewed for board The minutes from Laurel Municipal Inspection Agency were discussed, with one permit being There were nine incidents for the. July report by the Croyle Township police. Visitor Karen Bantley was present to: report speeding on. New Germany Road, with several other verbal complaints to Councilwoman Becky' Templeton on speeding there and. Jackson Street. Council would like the police to monitor speed enforcement on. Jackson Street and New Germany Road more often, with Mayor Eric Miller to talk with the Chief of Police: regarding the issue. Several other contractors were contacted but did not have the time to give estimates. There are two options for the next step, the first is to file at the local Magistrates Office or the second way is to file a civil injunction to demolish the building. It was the consensus of Council that the weeds in the creek is a state issue, which the municipality cannot control, and phone calls will bei made to the other two: first, then a certified letter will be sent, if no action has been taken. Electrician Robert McCormick, Councilwoman Terri Washko and Mayor Eric Miller will be attending al PMEA conference in September and will report their findings back to Council. Discussion was. held as to whether to keep the Christmas lights on continuously, or to put them on at timer. Electrician Robert McCormick suggests keeping them on continuously, due to the sockets getting wet and breaking verses ift they are left on, it will keep them dry and they will not break. It was the consensus of Council to let them on for the first year, being the new bulbs will be LED lights, to see what the savings will be and then will be discussed the following year. Iron Mountain Shredding Company has been contacted by Becky Templeton, with them to drop off five sixty-five galls bins, with a one-time fee of seventy-five dollars each pick-up.
