Regular Monthly Meeting July 14,2020 The regular monthly meeting for Summerhill Borough Council was opened by President Daryl Council members present; Brad Bodenschatz, Daryl Bodenschatz, Russell Jones, Danielle Others present; ecretary/Ireasurer Laura L. Penatzer, Mayor Eric Miller, Electric Secretary/Tax Collector Karmen Baumgardner, Street Commissioner Tom Susko, Ron Portash (Mainline), Luke Dierling gave aj presentation regarding his Eagle Scout Project that he would like to doat thel ballfield at thel bleachers; if approved by Council he would need a letter of support. He gave three different ideas to repairing the bleachers, concrete with trex decking edges $1,550.00, composite decking boards running lengthwise $3,185.00 and composite decking boards running along the width of each row $3,085.00. It was the consensus of Council for approval of the Dave Templeton spoke on concern of drainage issues on the upper 6001 block of New Germany Road. The sidewalks are crumbling to the point that the curbs are about non-existent. There isa catch basin that is full and non-functional which catches all the gravel. He would like a solution, and is wondering if the residents could remove the old sidewalks, but who would be responsible tor replace them. Being that New Germany Road is a state road, aj permit would need tol bei issued and is it their responsibility to install more catch basins. Street Commissioner Tom Susko will Mr. Templeton also has a second concern regarding the speeding on New Germany Road and Jackson Street. Vehicles are going way too: fast, being that police are being paid for, could they possibly sit on New Germany Road during thel hours that they are: not in service, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm, possibly notify the State Police also.
