Summerhill Borough Council Minutes of the Regular Monthly. Meeting March 10, 2020 The regular monthly meeting for Summerhill Borough Council was opened by President Daryl Council members present; Brad Bodenschatz, Daryl Bodenschatz, Russell Jones, Danielle Others present; Secretary/Ireasurer Laura L. Penatzer, Electrician Robert McCormick, Electric Secretary/Tax Collector Karmen Baumgardner, Ron Portash (Mainline), Dorothy Berkebile and Dorothy Berkebile submitted aj photo, asking permission to erect a driveway off of Croyle Street. The driveway would be 124' in length by 20' wide. After reviewing the picture, it is the consensus of Council to allow her to erect the driveway, with the stipulation that it must be erected back to the original specifications per PennDOT. Electric Secretary questions Council if the fee to send out certified letters could be raised, with Council remarking that the electric rates were previously raised, soi it was the Spring Street and First Avenuel have cracked sidewalks due to the snowplow hitting them with salt, it was questioned if a sealer should be put on them, with Council agreeing, not at this time. Discussion over street sweeping resulted inj possibly posting on thel Facebook page if the residents could clean the gravel from the sidewalks prior to having the streets swept. Councilman Brad Bodenschatz will work with the Summerhill Borough Volunteer Fire Department to revise the wording to either choose the Real Estate Tax credit of $200.00 or the Earned Income Tax credit The Street Commissioner is to be told to remove the "No Parking" signs by the Croyle residence Councilman Russell Jones reports that the swings will be erected next week at the park, with the bathrooms tol be opened also. The crosswalks will also be repainted, along with the curbing around town. He questions if sand should be placed ini the volleyball court, with Council agreeing that matting should be placed down first, then use screen sand; most likely around twenty-two ton will be needed.
