BOROUGH OF SOUTH GREENSBURG COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES June 14+,2021 Council President Clentin Martin called the meeting to order at 6:301 P.M. All those present repeated the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. PRESENT: Martin, Regola, Cole, Kelsey, Yarnell, Fajt, Bartley ABSENT: Hopkins, Rosensteel & Furin Recognition of Visitors: CITIZEN'S REMARKS: None APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MEETING'S MINUTES: Motion was made by Cole and seconded by Bartley to approve. BUILDINGS & GROUNDS: STREETS & SANITATION: Report included inj packet Spoke about purchasing a blower forl leaves and other various projects in borough. Quote from. John Deer was $8,500.00 and John Deer would purchase the cutter at $1,500.00. FIRE & WATER: VFD report included inj packet PARKS & RECREATION: Mayor Fajt reported the parks and recreation report in Kathy's absence. Baseball is almost complete and soccer season has finished. Concert in the park in June is Detention band. Oak St. parking is now complete. Wereceived: a grant from Westmoreland County Arts grant for $1,120.00. Community Foundationawarded a matching grant in amount of$4,000.00 for Western. Avep playground parking and the match willl be covered by the Foundation. Pitch in for Baseball grant was awarded and received new equipment for baseball. PLANNING, ZONING & CODE ENFORCEMENT: Ms. Peticca read the May Zoning Report- included in Packet. SOLICITOR'S REPORT: ENGINEER'S REPORT: Mr. Regola - Milling is complete if weather cooperates, they will lay the paving fabric in the next 2 days to complete the 2021 paving. job. The paving fabric can become extremely slippery when wet and create traffic issues. They like to ensure there is no rain in the forecast when laying the fabric which is why they have not done iti in the last several days. SEWAGE AUTHORITY REPORT: Report from Mr. Roman was delivered at the meeting APPROVAL OF BILLS and Budget Transfers: Approval of Bills: for May 2021. NEW BUSINESS: Western Ave Parking: Motion by Kelsey and seconded by Bartley to approve Daniels Excavating to install parking Vote: Yes5, No 0, Absent 2 Hopkins & Rosensteel, abstain 0- Motion Passed Discussed temporarily restricting parking on the left side of Sheridan Avenue in front oft the on Western Avenue playground quoted at $9,600.00. playground by 5 car spaces. Raise for seasonal Street Crew: Motion by Yarnell and seconded by Kelsey to give a $1.40 raise to the 2 part-time seasonal Vote: Yes5, No 0, Absent 2 Hopkins & Rosensteel, abstain 0- Motion Passed road crew workers starting with the current pay period. UNFINISHED BUSINESS: Crown Victoria Police Car: Motion was made by Bartley and seconded by Cole to accept Gary Kemps bid of $3,350.00 Vote: Yes5, No 0, Absent 2 Hopkins & Rosensteel, abstain 0- Motion Passed for the Crown Victoria Ford police car. Randy Roman Bench: Motion was made for the Roman Family to purchase and install a commercial bench in front of the borough building underneath the Randy Roman sign.
