SHICKSHINNY BOROUGH COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES June8 8, 2021 The General Meeting ofthe Borough of Shickshinny Council was held on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 in the council room ofthe Shickshinny Municipal Building. President Rosalie Whitebread called Perroll call, the following members ofcouncil were presen!: Rosalie Whilebread, Jim Wido, Solicitor's Report- Attorney. Burke states that he is in the final stages oft the Reinhard Subdivision. Hei received the Crary Street maps. He: sent a certified letter to the individuals that are parking their vehicles on Borough Property informing them That they must remove that vehicle from the borough property. He received a telephone call today. from one ofthose individuals, however he was not available to take that call, he called them back and lefi a message. Jim Wido made a motion for Autorney Burke to contact FEMA to. find out the Rules and regulations for these leased, properties. Motion was seconded by. Joseph Buchalski. Vote: Jim-Yes, Joe-Yes, Rosalie reminded. Attorney Burke to get the information he needs regarding the right ofway on Crary Street, so the no parking sign can be placed before the work begins. Motion to accept the Solicitors report by Jim Wido and seconded by. Joseph Buchalski. All members voted yes. Engineer's Report: - See Attached from Twin Oaks- Motion to accept the report was made by Zoning Officer's Report: Sonny, from Larry Frace's office updated the Council members on several issues within the borough. There was no report available due to the zoning office moving into a new building. Motion to accept report was made by. Jim Wido, Second Joseph Buchalski. President's Report- Rosalie gave an update on what the street department has been doing. New carpeting was pul in the meeting room and the two offices. She contacted Kenny Buchavich about repairs needed in both the upstairs and dounstairs bathroom, however, she has not received a return call to date. There are some electrical sockets that need to be looked at in this building as well. There Isa neighborhood yard: sale to be held on June 12w,July IQth and August 14th. There is a problem in this borough with people wealking their dogs and not cleaning up the mess they leave, there was a sign put up in the park on Canal Street, something needs to be done because A letter was received. from the. 570 Redline Outlaws asking to reserve the Shickshinny Park grounds on Susquehanna Ave for the next five years. The Council members agreed that this can be Megan Brown emailed the borough about holding a training session here for the EMA volunteers & council members. Rosalie advised her to contact the EMA Coordinator, Jay Smith to set this ther meeting to order at 6:00 pm. Kevin Kruczek: &. Joe Buchalski. Candice Kruczek was absent. The property goes. from one end ofShickshinny (Chestnul Street) to the other end near the Mocanaqua bridge. PG& W, needs to be contacted and told to maintain their own property. CORRESPONDENCE- Lori read correspondence, from Mamoth ITAD regarding the borough hosting a recycling event, there is a cost to hold. such an event sO the Borough is not interested, Luzerne Countyh holds aj free Lori stated the interim Bridge Inspection report for Bridge No. lon Glenn Ave has been received Joyce Insurance Group is asking to quote all the Borough'sinsurance.
