SHICKSHINNY BOROUGH COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES Augus! 9, 2021 The General Meeting ofthe Borough of Shickshinny Council was held on Monday, August 9, 2021, in the council room ofthe Shickshinny Municipal Building. Presiden! Rosalie Whitebread Perr roll call, the following members ofcouncil were present: Rosalie Whitebread, Jim Wido, & Candice Kruczek. Kevin Kruezek: &. Joe Buchalski were absent. Secretary Lori Ragazzo was called the meeting to order at 5:00 pm. present. There were no Solicitor's Report or Engineer's Report for this meeting. Kruczek and seconded by. Jim Wido. All Members voted yes. Zoning Officer's Report: - Report attached. Motion to accept the report was made by Candice President's Report- Rosalie updated the Council Members on the status ofall open grants, and one nelyavarded, grant from the LSAfrs100,000. Afier some discussion it was decided that this grant should include work on Chestnut, Grant, Baer and Church Streets. Lori will contact Chris Geotz, Penn Dot Municipal Services Representattre to have him evaluate these roads and Rosalie also informed the members about the Crary/Irene Street project, the work has not been started due to some misunderstandings between the engineer and contractor. Lori needs to contact Rosalie asked the Council members for approval to purchase new lights for the Borough, the lights we currently have keep burning out, we need to order betler ones. The members approved her to SECRETAR/TREASURERS REPORT-* Motion to accept the meeting minutes ofJuly 6, 2021, was made by Candice Kruczek and seconded by. Jim Wido. All members voted yes. Motion to approve the payment ofBills & Financial Statement was made by Candice Kruczek Motion to accept the Secretaries report was made by. Jim Wido and. seconded by Candice Kruczek. The Northwest Area School Board approved the Borough' 's reques! for the waiver oftaxes for 125/127 West union Street property in the amount ofs1,800 for 2019-2020. school Year. The Northwest Area School district is applying. for a competitive Integrated Employment grant from the Department of Education. They are asking the Borough for a letter of Support for this grani. Motion to give a letter ofsupport was made by. Jim Wido and. seconded by Candice determine the work needed. the CFA and ask ifwe can change engineers. purchase them at the lowest cost possible. and seconded by. Jim Wido. All Council Member voted yes. All members voted yes. Kruczek. All Council Members voted yes. I has been brought to the Borough' 's attention that a resident painted twoj fire hydrants the color red, which they are suppose to be yellow. Rosalie will check with PAAmerican Water about this. The Borough received a letter from Neil Piskorick regarding his property on Glenn Avenue asking the Borough to establish a permanent Righi of Way or Easement, along with aj few other requests. The council members tabled this until a future meeting. Motion made by Candice Kruczek and seconded by. Jim Wido. All members voted yes.
