SHICKSHINNY BOROUGH COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES November 3, 2021 The General Meeting ofthe Borough of Shickshinny Council was held on Wednesday November 3, 2021, in the council room ofthe Shickshinny Municipal Building. President Rosalie Whitebread Perroll call, the following members ofcouncil were presen!: Rosalie Whitebread, Jim Wido, Candice Kruczek &. Joe Buchalski. Kevin Kruezek was absent. Attorney Burke was absent. President's Report- The issues with Rockview Ave are still ongoing. There are. repairs needed to both the pavement and guiderails. Lori spoke with our engineer, John Ackerman regarding the punch list/plan for repairs and he stated that he would get to il when he gets to i. Thec church is complaining about the water running offthis road now and flooding their basement. These repairs need to be taken care of, but we are not having any luck with the engineer trying to resolve this, he is not working in a timely manner because hej feels the. Borough should have paid the engineer's fees. Lori read correspondence, from Tanner MacDougall ( Project manager. for Don E. Bower) that he sent to john Ackerman and. John's reply. President Whitebread wants to know ifthe Council members would like to replace. John Ackerman and hand over this project to Tom Reilly. Lori needs to speak with the Attorney regarding thej process ofremoring an engineer. from a project. The The Crary Street project is still not complete and now has to wait until the spring of2022. The Plow Truck is being repaired by. Justin Farver and. should be back in about two weeks. At the reques! ofLuzerne County Election Bureau, Attorney Burke prepared an Agreement involving the error appearing on the Tuesday, November: 2, 2021 ballot. Apparently, the said ballot sets forth five (5) candidates with directives offour (4) candidates eligible for election when infact, three (3) borough council seats are open to election. Each ofthe five Candidates signed There are tuo properties that went up. for Repository Sale on Parker Hill and the Borough has the righi to reject the bid for said properties and also has the right to place a bid as well. The gentleman that bid on these properties bid $500.00. Loriand Rosalie to make. some calls to) find out more Motion to accept the Presidents Report was made by. Joe Buchalski and seconded by Candice called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm. discussion regarding the issues with this project continued for some time. this agreement. about this. The Borough is interested in placing a bid. Kruczek. Vote: all yes except Rosalie, she abstained. Solicitor's Report - None Engineer's Report- None Zoning Officer's Report: Report allached. Rosalie discussed some issues that are taking place in the Borough with the Zoning Officer and also thez zoning setbacks. Afier some extensive discussion with the council members and a Borough resident ho is having some issues with the Zoning Officer, Rosalie informed him that Mr. Frace came into the office today and. she discussed these issues with him, Mr. Frace is going to change these setbacks, once. he sends this to the Council Motion to accept the report was made by Candice Kruczek: and seconded by.
