PROCLAMATION  Emergency Medical Services Week May 21st through 27h, 2023  Whereas, emergency medical services is a vital public service; and  Whereas, the members of emergency medical services teams are ready to provide Whereas, access to quality emergency care dramaticaly improves the survival and Whereas, emergency medical services has grown to fill a gap - becoming the  lifesaving care to those in need 24 hours a day, seven days a week; and recovery rate of those who experience sudden illness or injury; and  national Healthcare Safety Net' - by providing important out of hospital care, including preventative medicine, follow-up care, and access to  telemedicine; and  Whereas, the emergency medical services system consists of emergency medical  responders, emergency medical technicians, advanced emergency medical technicians, paramedics, prehospital registered nurses, prehospital physician extenders, prehospital physicians, dispatchers, firetighters, police officers, educators, administrators, trained member of the public, and other  out of hospital medical care providers; and  Whereas, the members of emergency medical services team, whether career or  volunteer, engage in thousands of hours of specialized training and continuing education to enhance their lifesaving skills; and  Whereas, iti is appropriate to recognize the value and the accompishments of  emergency medical services providers by designating Emergency Medical Therefore, 1 Kendy Alvarez, Mayor of the Borough of Lewisburg, do hereby proclaim the week of May 21st through May 27h, 2023 as Emergency Medical Services Week in the Borough of Lewisburg.
