KENHORST BOROUGH COUNCIL MINUTES OF THE OCTOBER 5, 2023 MEETING President Jonathan Smith called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Roll call was taken with the following Council members present: Mayor Nickolas Hatzas, Anthoy Avilla, Terry Mohler, Peter Also in attendance: Borough Manager Cindy Castner, Jim McCarthy Engineering, Lt. Zebertavage Reading Police Department and the following community members Virginia Lesher, Janice. Johnston, Vince O'Brien, Jeffery Smith, Scott Stamm, Roger Weidenheimer. Gagliardo. Public comment: President of Council: Janice. Johnston at 640 Haig Blvd is concerned about the cars going to fast down alley ways. Approval of Minutes-President Smith presented the minutes from the September 7, 2023 Council meeting for approval. Mr. Mohler made a motion to approve the minutes, seconded by Pete O'Brien. Motion passed unanimously. Borough reports Mayor: Mr. Hatzas Halloween hours are Tuesday October 31 from 61 to 8p.m. Mr. Hatzas voiced his concern about the noise ordinance and the loud cars that rattle your house Kenhorst VFD Chief Report: Chief Dwayne Hart presented total of 59 calls. Halloween Police: 60 calls were reported for the month of September. Mr. Smith asked if the police could keep a watch on the people parking close the curbs and stop signs because it isa Finance Report: Mr. Weidenheimer presented the finance report and the P&L report for September 2023. Mr. Weidenheimer made a motion to accept the report, with Mr. driving through the neighborhood. night October 31 the firehouse will open from 6p.m. to 8 p.m. safety concern at certain areas in the borough. Mohler offering a second motion passed unanimously. Codes and Emergency Services: No report Personnel: No report Sanitation: Mr. Scott Stamm reported bulk cleanup this past Monday was a success. The County Agricultural Center is having a shredding event on October 14, 2023 anda a hazardous waste pick up event on October 21, 2023. Sewer: Waiting on a quote for the second pump.
