KENHORST BOROUGH COUNCIL  MINUTES OF THE SEPTEMBER 7, 2023 MEETING  President, Jonathan Smith called the meeting to order at 7:00pm. Roll call was taken with the following Council members present: Mayor Nikolas Hatzas, Anthony Avilla, Terry Mohler, Peter Also in attendance: Jim McCarthy Engineering, Lt. Zebertavage Reading Police Department and the following community members Virginia Lesher, Elissa Smith and' Vince Gagliardo and Terry  O'Brien, Jeffery Smith, Scott Stamm, Roger Weidenheimer.  Shuker. Public comment: memorial service. President of Council:  Terry Shuker of 57 Wesleyan Drive said the fire department did a outstanding job on the  Approval of Minutes-President Smith presented the minutes from the August 3, 2023 Council meeting for approval. Mr Mohler made a motion to approve the minutes, seconded by Mr. Jeff Smith. Motion passed unanimously. Mayor: Mr Hatzas reported the fines collected in August were 150.00. He also Kenhorst VFD Chief Report: Chief Dwayne Hart presented total 641 fire calls. The chicken barbecue heldi in August, 848 dinners sold for $10,176.00, bake sale sold $122.00, public donation was $707.00 grand total $11,005.00. Finance Report: Mr. Weidenheimer made the motion to accept the report. Personnel: President Smith said personnel committee will be meeting this week Sanitation: New recycle bins are in and if anyone isi interested they should call  Borough Reports  wished Roger Weidenheimer a Happy birthday today.  Codes and Emergency Services: No report toir interview for the new ecretary/lreasurer position  the borough hall to receive one. Stormwater: No report Sollitior's Report: On vacation Property & Buildings Report: No report Streets-No report Police-79 calls for the month of August  MUNICIPAL AUTHORITY REPORTS:  Parks/Playground: Building complete and the electric goes in next week.    OLD/UNFINISHED BUSINESS:  Cindy is looking into permit fees from both McCarthy and Kraft Codes sO we have End of consulting agreement with the former Borough manager and former There were 22 complaints for overgrown grass and weeds this month and one generator complaint for running a generator at 1319 Commonwealth Blvd. The  abetter understanding what they cost.  secretary/treasurer.  police will keep an eye on this.  NEW BUSINESS:  New member' Virginia Lesher 1315 Columbia Ave was sworn in the zoning hearing board, Mr. Stamm made a motion, seconded by Jeff Smith. Collection process for the sewer/trash bill will be started again through RAWA for people with high delinquent sewer bills. Cindy explained to John Kracker 1402 Fern Ave his towing bill cannot be Bronco's contract renewal motion was made by Mr. Terry Mohler and Yellow painting for curbs was motioned by President Jon Smith and seconded by Mr. Terry Mohler for Borough Manager to solicit bids for a yellow curb painting action throughout the Borough.  paid by the borough. seconded by Mr. Jeff Smith.
