MINUTES OF THE SHADE TREE COMMISSION OFTHE BOROUGH OF SEWICKLEY March! 5, 2024  The Shade Tree Commission (STC) convened on March! 5, 2024, in Council Chambers. The meeting was  called to order by' Vice Chairperson. APPROVAL OF MINUTES  Minutes from February meeting unanimously approved.  H.  STAFFING UPDATES  None None  III. OLDB BUSINESS  IV. NEWI BUSINESS-A ARBORIST REPORT & APPLICATIONS  Tree Removal Program: Tyler is finalizing bid package that willi focus on the trees with ratings of3& 4. Package willl bes sent out for bid shortly. Public' Works has been able to remove several trees that were on the list, mainly trees with 2i in diametertrunks: and Tree Maintenance Program: Tyler will confirm that the pollarding oft thel London Plains has been completed. Tall Timbers is currently working on the most recent pruning package that consists of trees with risk ratings of 3& 4 and are primarily Oak and Elm Trees. Trees that have been submitted for pruning and previously approved by STC are also being completed by Tall Timbers. Tyler is coordinating with Public Works to create a list of pruning's that they can handle. Tyler has requested pricing for the specialized  less than 101 feet tall. They willl be removing the stumps shortly.  treatment oft the Ash trees.    Tree Planting Program: Tyler worked with Donna and Brian and has received a commitment from Public' Works to assisti in the planting of 20t trees fort the Spring planting and an additional 15 trees fort the Fall planting. Tyler will provide an updated  list of recommended planting sites. Removal/Pruning Applications:  879 Thorn Street: This tree was previously on the removal list and tree has 540 Hill Street: Application to remove private tree that is causing uplifting on the driveway and sidewalk.
