The regular monthly meeting of Ellport Borough Council was held on the above date in Council Chambers, Ellport Borough Building; Present were President Boy and Council members Takacs, Tomon, Gebhardt and Mazzant. Also present were Mayor Cisco, Solicitor Minett, Secretary Christy, Joe MacDonald and Justin Neupauer. A motion was made Tomon by seconded TREASURER'S REPORT: and by. Takacs to accept the minutes of the May 15, 2023 meeting as received. Motion passed unanimously. General Fund - $437,533. Fuel Fund - $112,257. Memorial - $1,921. A motion was made by Gebhardt and seconded by Mazzant to accept the treasurer's report. A roll call vote was taken with all voting yes. Ellwood City police officer Mike McBride explained how to fill out code enforcement complaint forms which require the address of the violation, the location of the violation, the date and time, and which need to be signed by the individual making the complaint. He stated that code violations are not responded to by police. Police respond to 911 calls which include burning violations and calls about stray dogs. He advised that residents call 911 for disturbances and police will re- spond. He also expressed the importance of complainees being willing to go to court and testify against the guilty party and substantuate the offense. A motion was made by Takacs and seconded by Mazzant to allow use of the main shelter on that date at a reduced cost of $50 by the Holy Name Society. Boy, Takacs, Mazzant and Gebhardt Solicitor Minett reported that a Public Notice will be placed in the New Castle News to report a Special Meeting to be held on July 10, 2023, prior to the Agenda Meeting, for the conducting of a Public Hearing considering the adoption of a revised Zoning Ordinance and voting on that proposed revised ordinance,and which will begin at voted yes.
