The regular monthly meeting of Ellport Borough Council was held on the above date in the Community Center, Ellport Borough Building. Present were Council President William Boy, Vice-President Tammy Mazzant and Council members Jeffrey Borroni and. Jacqueline Bowman. Absent was Councilman Matthew Gebhardt. Also present were Mayor. Joseph Cisco. Solicitor Thomas Minett, Secretary/Treasurer: Marguerite Christy and employee. Joseph MacDonald. A motion was made by Mazzant and seconded by Bowman to accept the minutes of the February 19, 2024 regular monthly meeting and the March 11, 2024 agenda meeting as received. A roll call vote was taken with all voting yes. Motion passed unanimously. TREASURER'S REPORT: General Fund $342,273. Fuel Fund $153,395. Christy reported that a Liquid Fuels Tax Fund payment in the amount of $43,700.10 was received from the State on March: 1, 2024. Bryan Lucarelli questioned Council about his request for use of Sheeler ballfield in 2024 by the Ellwood City Recreational Fast Pitch VISITORS: Softball organization. MAYOR'S REPORT: Mayor Cisco reported that police spent 481 hours on patrol, answered 56 calls and responded to 8 incidents. Also, police ran: speed traps within the Borough on 3/17/24. MANTENANCE/STEET REPORT: Amotion was made by Mazzant and seconded by Bowman to hire Kenneth Gebhardt, part-time, if necessary, to assist Joseph MacDonald with a Borough storm sewer project at a wage of $25.00/hour. A roll call vote was taken with all voting yes. Motion passed unanimously. SEWER REPORT: Christy reported that Sewer Authority member Michaei Milnes has died and a replacement to his position, which runs through December 31, 2026, needs to be considered by Council. PARKS/RECREATION REPORT: A motion was made by Mazzant and seconded by Bowman to hire Wayne Parsons as Rodgers Park janitor for the 2024: season with wages set at $25.00/hour. AI roll cally vote was taken with Boy, Mazzant and Bowman voting yes and Amotion was made by Mazzant and seconded by Bowman to approve use oft the Borough ballfields in 2024 as requested by the Ellwood City Area Baseball Federation, Ellwood City Girls Softball League, and Ellwood City Fast Pitch Borroni voting no. A motion was made by Mazzant and seconded by Bowman to accept the quotes of Mr. Fence for $970.00 for the gate, and $1,750.00 to. JD Tree LLC for tree removal, as per the opinion of Solicitor Minett.
