Dzuro-yes; Mols-yes; alseyyetySnotgasyes, McKelvey-yes. Motion carried. Citizens Present Mr. Dennis Krajewski reports the sidewalk coming from the bridge, down the steps, is crumbling. Mr.Snodgrass Mr. Krajewski questions the status of the house over here. President McKelvey replies until we get some money Mr. Dan Krajewski comments he received this packet in the mail for his house on Luscombe Lane and it is nota rental home. It was his parents and no one lives there now; iti isvacant. Hei is not payinga $50rentall license for this home. Council President McKelvey states the way our Ordinance reads is if the home is not "Owner Occupied, iti is considered a rental and you are required to pay the fee. Mr. Krajewski replies he feels this is a death tax that is to be paidi ify your parents die and leave you the house. Mayor Mayor McKelvey comments the police have been busy; there were 66 calls and 3 arrests. Mayor McKelvey states he isg going to get al letter out to US Steel asking for a donation for dirt for the ballfields. Solicitor Atty. Matta comments he has nothing for the public session at this time. Engineer Mr. Glenn comments reports he has been in touch with the demolition contractor and the demolition of 210- 214 4th Street should be done soon. Hei is waiting on the County to complete the asbestos review. The earliest Mr. Glenn reports he prepared a cost estimate to repair the retaining wall at Sherman and 4th, $274,270. A would-be next Thursday. discussion follows. 1 Mr. Glenn informs Council he sent a letter to Peoples Gas regarding Luscombe Lane and replacing all the lines Mr. Glenn reports the bids for Maple Avenue project were opened. The low bidder was Pugliano Construction int the amount of $2,425,777.77. He recommends accepting this bid based on receiving additional funding from the Turnpike Commission. He sent a letter to Mr. Burd but hei is no longer in charge oft this and forwarded it to Mr. Glenn reports the bids for the USS ballfields were opened. There was only 1 bidder, Plavchak, who is an excellent contractor. Council will need to decide to accept this bid or have the project rebid. Mr. Glenn reports we received an LSA Grant int the amount of $75,000 for a public works truck. there before paving is done in coordination with the water company. the proper contact but we haven't heard back yet. Mr. Glenn reports the GTRP Grant application is open and due May 31st. Council President McKelvey requests the engineer to look into the issue with PAWC regarding the upper part of Euclid Avenue where there is a problem. Sanitation/Grants/Blighted Property Mr. Dzuro states he has no report. Public Safety/Workers Comp/Fire Council President McKelvey has no report. Parks/Recreation Mr. Palcsey makes the motion to accept and award the bid fort the ballfields to Plavchak subject to the solicitor's review and approval. Mr. Snodgrass seconds the motion. Streets/Property/COG Mr. Snodgrass makes the motion to award the Maple Ave. project to Pugliano Construction based upon receiving approval for the additional funding from the Turnpike Commission. He feels it would be more advantageous for us to give them a Real Estate Tax Break. A brief discussion follows.
