REGULAR MEETING OF DRAVOSBURG BOROUGH COUNCIL OF JUNE20, 2023 The meeting was called to order by Council President McKelvey at 7:00 p.m. with the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll Call Dzuro... Mols.. Palcsey.. Snodgrass.. McKelvey... present .present present absent (working) present Mr. Palcsey makes the motion to accept the minutes as written. Mr. Dzuro seconds the motion. Roll call vote. Dzuro-yes; Mols-yes; Palcsey-yes; Mckelvey-yes. Motion carried. Citizens Present Mr. Dave Crouch from First Street questions the status of their request for permit parking. President McKelvey comments we are moving forward with it. The advertising of the Ordinance didn't get in on time. It will be done for the. July 18th meeting. Mayor Mayor McKelvey comments there are no police here again tonight and they left no report. Mayor McKelvey and Council have a proclamation to present to Lt. Patrick Ulm, Firefighter Dakota Sloan for saving the life ofa fire victim on. June 5th on Scott Drive and acknowledges the dedication and service of DVFD#1 as av whole. Solicitor Solicitor Sam Dalfonso gave his report at Caucus and has nothing further to add at this time: 1) The First Street Parking Ordinance did not get advertised in time but will be ready for next month. 2) Solicitor Dalfonso reports their office prepared the Proclamation mentioned prior. 3) Solicitor Dalfonso reports they have been int touch with the engineer about the curbi issue at DHA; theyagree with what the the engineer said and the gas line had to be moved. because ofal legal issue. Engineer Mr. Glenn gave his report at Caucus: 1) Maple Ave project is underway; they have removed trees and will be working on the wall next. 2) The Turnpike Commission has approved the additional money requested and: sent an amended contract to sign. 3) The ballfield project will begin after the Fourth of July. 4) We will puti ina a new grant application fori the ballfield parking lot and remaining pavilion roofs. 5) We received the LSA Grant in the amount of $75,0001 fora a newt truck SO we can start moving on that. Hei is willing tol help with that if we SO desire. 6) An Act 152 Grant has been submitted for demolition. 7) We received 2 emails from DHA and reads his response to those emails. The borough will have to pay an additional $1700t to resurface Pine. Alley because the millings were so thin and we needed to reinforce the street. 1 Senleton/Grent/Blahted Property Mr. Dzuro states he has no report. Mr. Palcsey makes the motion to accept and sign the amended agreement with Pa Turnpike Commission for Maple Avenue. Mr. Mols seconds the motion. Roll callvote. Parks/Recreation Mr. Palcsey reiterates what was already said regarding DVFD#1. It makes him proud to belong to the fire department and comments "job well done guys". Old Business Mr. Palcsey questions if we ever found anything out about the sign that Mr. Finney wants to put upt there where Bowens was? Mr. Mols comments he as to obtain the property first. Mr. Palcsey questions Mr. Finney if he said last month her wanted to put up a sign there? Mr. Finney says hei isn't going to put anything up until he gets the ok from Council. If he was permitted, he would put a sign "Welcome to Dravosburg:. He would only dig 2 holes 21 ft. deep but he cannot do anything until he owns the property and asks Council if we are going to get back to him with a number. President McKelvey comments we need to have a meeting to discuss this. Ms. Honick: states the demolition alone was $70,000. Abrief discussion follows.
