RESOLUTION NO. 2019-/7 BOROUGH OF CLARKS SUMMIT  AI RESOLUTION OF THE BOROUGH OF CLARKS SUMMIT FILLING A VACANCY OF MEMBER OF COUNCIL  WHEREAS, the Borough of Clarks Summit (the Borough") is a Borough and Municipality in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania organized and governed according to the  Borough Code; and  WHEREAS, Dominic R. Scott, of311 Knapp Road, was elected on Tuesday, November WHEREAS, Dominic R. Scott submitted a letter ofr resignation to the Council oft the WHEREAS, the Borough's Council accepted the resignation ofI Dominic R. Scott by an WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 901(a) oft the Borough Code, the Borough's Council shall fill the vacancy of] Member of Council within 30 days by appointing ai registered elector of the Borough to hold the office ofl Member of Council until the first Monday in January after the first municipal election occurring more than 60 days after the vacancy occurs, at which election  3, 20151 to serve a four-year term as ai member of the Borough's Council; and  Borough on or about August 28, 2019; and  unanimous vote of6t to 0 at its public meeting on September 4, 2019; and  an eligible individual shall be elected to the office;  WHEREAS, the Borough Council announced at its public meeting on September 4, 2019  that it would be accepting applications from registered electors ofthel Borough who are  interested in filling the vacancy on Council;  WHEREAS, the Borough Council has advertised the vacancy ofMember of Council with  an invitation ofinterested parties to apply for the position; and  WHEREAS, the Borough Council held a Special Meeting on Wednesday, 2019 for the purpose ofinterviewing applicants for the position of] Member of Council. September25, NOW, THEREFORE BE. IT RESOLVED, that BORERT PsusIus TT being a registered elector oft the Borough of Clarks Summit, Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania, and otherwise qualified under the Borough Code is hereby appointed to fill the vacancy of Member of Council pursuant to Section 901(a) oft the Borough Code until January 6, 2020.
