Roll call found Council members, Mayor Baker, Mrs. Lindstrom, Mr. Fike and! Mr. Maloney andl Mr. Hammond present. Also present were, City Administrator Smith, City Solicitor Caparosa, City Treasurer Kelly, Beverly' Weaver and Lorie Sutton, of thel Erie County Housing Authority. (1) Mrs. Weaver opened ther meeting stating thatt the purpose of this meeting is to discuss andr receive publici input and comments regarding the 2024 Community! Development Block Grant (CDBG). Funds available for the City of Corry under the (2) Mrs. Weaver read the Public Notice for ther meeting, which included the statement of eligible activities that qualify for CDBGf fund, whichi include broad areas of housing, infrastructure, economic development and public services. More specific activitiesi include: code enforcement where such enforcement, together with publici improvements, rehabilitation ands services to bep provided may be expected to arrest the decline of the area; improvement of public works, including water, sewer, ands storm sewer projects. Limited funds are available, as well, for public services, administration and planning costs. Proposed activities mustr meet one orr more oft three objectives: benefit lowandmodenateincome persons; prevention or elimination ofs slums or blight; and or alleviation ofi immediate threats to thel health and safety of the community. The City of Corryi is required to and will commit not! less than seventy percent (70%) of the total funds to projects, which principally benefit low and moderate-income 2024 CDBG Program will total approximately: $300,000. persons. (3) Public comments included: Mrs. Lindstrom askedi ift ther money could be used to removet trees that are dead and dangerous -I Mrs. Weaver said, no. Mrs. Lindstrom then askedi ifito could be used for sidewalks that are damaged byt trees. Mrs. Weaver and City Solicitor Mr. Hammond asked for clarification on whata amount is a' "little" project. Mrs. Weaver said generally anything under Mr. Maloney asked ift there were monies set asidef from previous years for the Fire Department. Mrs. Weaves said yes, Mayor Baker said that as a general rule we: seem to spend a lot of money on storm sewer. Mrs. Weaver asked City Engineer Maas ifv wel have met the EPAI requirement for storm: sewer. Mr. Maas said hei is not aware ofaspedificnumber Mayor Baker askedi if we could use! 5-101 Land Bank lots and putf for example a disabled veteran home up. Lots are: small but grandfatheredi in and we could fit as smaller house ont them.
