He also thanked the American Legion, Dr. Patton and the boy scouts for all the help with the Memorial Day Service. MayorLeslie updated council regarding thel boat launch. Tim Walker cleared the trees, Marc Mitchell and Sam Masters used their equipment to clear the way for thel boat launch, Bob Slosser and Gary Pezzuolo provided millings for the ramp, and Officer Charmo isworking on a donation from Hanson Aggregates for stone toj place on the ramp. The Bessemer Presbyterian Church donated $200for thel Bessemer Lake Park. He also mentioned that hel hasn'treceived any information on when thet tank willl bei inspected and that he will email Liquid Engineering to see when this will take place. Mr. Buzza also mentioned that he has sent numerous emails regarding the relocation ofthe water line on S. Main St. where the state will be replacing thel last bridge. Mr. Buzza needs information on whether the borough or the state will be replacing the waterline under the bridge. He also reported that the Roosevelt Ave. bridge inspection would be $7500. Mr. Buzza mentioned that Mr. McConahy is doing a great job with the borough water system. He is recommends that the borough purchase a meter ($2,000) that would assist in detecting chlorine, iron, manganese, and hydrogen sulfide. Mr. Buzza brought up the borough selling bulk waterand what to charge. He reminded council thatt the meter we. had looked into did notl have a backflow preventer. He suggested thatift the borough wanted to save on cost and not purchase the meter with the backflow preventer, thaty you could use the air-gap method using the top oft the truck's tank creating an air gap. He reported that a One-Call meeting will take place on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, with Columbia Gas regarding the service gas line replacements and our streets restoration requirements.
