Pledge of Allegiance Presentations Proclamation of the Ambridge Borough Council and Mayor recognizing the 100" year anniversary ofstate-owned control of Old Economy Village was presented tol Mr. Michael Knecht, Site Rev. James Hamilton, 11341 Maplewood Avenue, on behalfo ofCitizens to Protect the Ambridge Reservoir, presented information to Council and updated the community regarding an upcoming lecture they are presenting on. April 20th at the Ambridge High School regarding their efforts to protect the Authority's water quality. He asked the Borough Council to post and share the Ms. Marlene DeAngelis, 11201 Lenz. Avenue, expressed dissatisfaction about the closed Bottom Dollar Grocery Store on 11th Street. She asked what a resident could dot tol help bring another grocery storet to Ambridge. She was advised that thel Borough Council has already reached out to about twenty different grocery chains about the store, giving them information about the property and incentives that thel Borough could offer to open herei in Ambridge. She was advised to reach out Ms. Jamie Watkins, 542 Glenwood Avenue, requested Council to consider seeking occupancy for Ms. Joanne Trella, 832 Glenwood Avenue, expressed concerns about vehicles traveling the wrong way on Glenwood. Mr. Mikulich advised Mr. Buka that the property owner has been cited by the Code Enforcement Officer for the: zoning violations oft thej junk yard and thej property maintenance issues of the on-going demolition site. The Solicitor added that the property owner is currently working on getting bids for another contractor to finish the demolition work. She also reported that first letters/registration notices Public Safety: Mrs. Drewnowski reported that Police Cruiser No. 3021 has been sold via www.Municibidcom for $2,350. She also reported that the property owner of273 15th Street is going tor rebuild after the firet this month att this residence. Mrs. Drewnowski also reported that the Fire Department is looking at demonstration units fort the new: fire engine. She stated that recently, they looked at a 65' telesquirt unit that would cost $650,000- - with a 50' unit costing $573,000. Lastly, she reported that in the past week thel Firefighters completed over 24 hours oft training. Mrs. Miller thanked thel Fire and] Policel Departments for their response and efforts containing the fire at 273 15th Street, she stated that this firel happened next to her residence. She stated that thel Police officers worked quickly to get thei resident to safety and thei firefighters quick action saved both her Public Works: Engineer Suehr reported that work as part oft the 20161 Road Program is scheduled to start next week with efforts dedicated to concrete repairs. He also reported thati it is still scheduled to complete thei intersection of5"h Street and) Elm Road first.
