He informed Council that he plans to renovate the eight residential apartments and currently does not] have aj plan for the first floor commercial space. Hes stated that] he will not rent the commercial space to any establishment that would sell alcohol. Mr. Mikulich welcomed Mr. Alexander to Ambridge and stated that hei is happy to see someone: fixing up this building. Mr. McCoy questioned ifhe owned the building at 15th and Lenz Avenue, Mr. Alexander confirmed, yes. Mr. McCoy stated that he did a great job renovating that building. He stated that Ericl Dunmyer is currently a Baden Firefighter who has multiple firefighting certifications, an. Air Force Veteran, currently employed also asa 3 Rochester Borough Police Officer and has served as Rochester's Code Enforcement Officer. He then stated that Robert Charlovich is currently the Conway Borough Fire Chief who has multiple firefighting certifications, a Bachelor's Degree in Fire Science andi is also an EMT with Medic Rescue. Lastly, he stated that Lawrence Charlton, is currently an Ambridge Volunteer Firefighter whol has multiple firefighting certifications andi is also an Ambridgel Borough resident. Mr. Mikulich thanked the Fire Department Staff for coordinating the recent testing that madej possible thel hiring oft the new: firefighters. He stated that these new hires is ai new pilot Code / Fire Department program developed byt the Borough Manager that brings all oft the Codel Enforcement duties into the services oft thel Firel Department. Mr. Mikulich stated that this program is a win-win for the community as it adds staffing to the Fire Department and coupled with the long-overdue equipment upgrades coming to the Firel Department this year with the new trucks the AFD willl be set for al longtime to Motion to enter into agreement with Hancock. She reported that last month 34 citations were issued for property owners who did not secure their Rental Operating Licenses for 2016-17. She also reviewed 2016 Code Enforcement accomplishment that include: Continued uniform reimplementation of thel Rental Operating License and Inspection Program. I Partnered with Beaver County Community Development to raze blighted buildings including the - Reactivated thel Historical Architectural Review Board; completed two specialized trainings for the board members and the Board reviewed and issued three Certificates of Appropriateness for Through persistent code enforcement efforts, saw through the cleanup oft the former American Bridge Company Office Building site at the corner of 4th Street and Park Road. Improved the Food Establishment Health Inspection Program, 75 establishments were inspected and licensed in 2016, and the Health Officer coordinated multiple "Serve Safe" training courses here in. Ambridge tol help train area food managers and handlers on thei importance of food safety. C Coordinated a Community Tire Collection Event on October 8th, resulting in 207 tires being collected andj properly: recycled versus being illegally dumped or becoming an eyesore. Public Safety: Mrs. Drewnowski reported that the new police and fire SUVs havel been ordered. She stated that the police car is expected to arrive within the month, fire SUV: should be delivered by May. Mrs. Drewnowski also reported that Brindlee Mountain is still working on the new Pierce Firel Engine. She also stated that January gth, was National Law Enforcement. Appreciation Day. Thisi is a designated day out oft the year that encourages displays ofs support for alll law enforcement officers.
