Mr. Ross McCoy, 17001 Duss Avenue, stated that there is ani issue on Duss Avenue with motorists not obeying crosswalk laws and do not let] pedestrians cross. Hes stated that iti is dangerous and that thet traffic signal at 19th Street on Duss, only makes thei issue worse as motorists travel faster tol beat Ms. Natalie Napolitano, student at Quaker Valley High School, made presentation to the Borough Council about the "Food Desert" that exists in Ambridge as majority of the population lives toi far away from affordable groceries. She would like to work with the Borough tol help bring a grocery store to Ambridge or improve our current farmers market. She was advised that Mr. Kauer will Mr. Stanley Williamson, 70 15th Street, stated that he made both a written and verbal request to Council to consider repaving the stone alley between 15th Street and Old Economy Village (Beech Ally) He was advised that the street willl be reviewed for consideration tol bej paved as part of the 20181 Road Program, the roads being paved this year have already been selected. Mr. Lillian Pfaff, 13251 N. Walnut Street, requested Council to consider repaving Spruce Street as ite exits New Economy Village. She was advised that Spruce Street isi in Harmony Township, and not the light. Borough. Auditor Mark Turnley reviewed the 20161 report with) Borough Council. He noted the decrease in fund balance and thel levels that the Pension Plans are currently funded. He also detailed out the budget to actual reports 2. Consider action to authorize the advertisement and public display ofOrdinance! No. 1295, an Ordinance ofthel Borough of Ambridge, amending the Ambridge Borough Code ofOrdinances, Article IV, Chapter 290, Section 36.1, entitled" Parking Prohibited by Type of Vehicle" so as toj prohibit parking of dump trucks, tow trucks and flatbed vehicles. Mrs. Drewnowski questioned how street openings are records and logged. Thel Borough Manager stated that the office keeps an excel spreadsheet that accounts for each openings location and pertinent information. 3. Motion to authorize the advertisement andj public display ofOrdinance No. 1296, an Ordinance of the Borough of Ambridge, amending the Ambridgel Borough Code ofOrdinances, Article II, Chapter 265, Sections 3-14, entitled' "Street Opening and Excavations." (Note: thel PRP proposes to affect a 10% reduction int the volume ofs sediment entering French Point Creek by increasing the frequency of street sweeping, andi installing silt traps in existing storm inlets throughout the sedimentation area.) Motion to authorize the Ambridge Fireworks Committee tol hang event signs for the Sunday, July 2nd Independence Day Fireworks Display on the H&H Sports-courts fences at 11th Street and Duss Avenue. Code Enforcement Committee: Mrs. Caldarelli reported that multiple permits were: issued this past month, seven properties have been posted for demolition as part of this year's County Demolition Program and that thel Historical Review Clearance Study is underway for the Commercial Demolitions Public Safety: Mrs. Drewnowski reported that Officer Jason Seng was recently awarded a Fatherhood Award. She also reported that the new ladder truck isi in and should be in service shortly. Mr. Mikulich stated that the firefighters are doing an excellent job mounting all of the new equipment and getting the new trucks ready for service. He alsos stated that thel Police Department did a greatj job handling the traffic through town when Route 65 was recently shut down due to construction and repairs to the Ambridge-Aliquippa Bridge. He stated that he is still waiting on DEP approval for thel bridge outfall project. In: regards to thel MS41 Permit Renewal, he outlined that additional street sweeping and silt bags willl be neededi in thet target area that discharges intol French Point Creek, the goal is tor reduce sedimentation into the Festival of Churches, which will bel held on September 30".
