She also reported that since May, 225 notices have been sent out for high grass - ofs such 2101 havel been abated. Lastly, she stated that the code sweeps are working out very well. Mr. Mikulich commented that Assistant Chief Public Safety: Mrs. Miller questioned thel hours of curfew during thes summer months. She stated thati it currently is 11:00PM, and suggested that the committee consider revising this sot that the curfew is 10:00PM year round. Lt. Jameson stated that there are other issues with the Borough's curfew law thats should be reviewed at the same time. Mr. Mikulich deferred this matter to the Public Safety Committee toi review and recommend amendments. Solicitor Start encouraged the Police Department Public Works: Mr. Cafarelli reported that the committee met on. July 10th, those present included: himself, Mr. McCoy, Mr. Flannery, Joel Kauer, and Ted] Eberhardt. The following was discussed: Street-sweeping of1lth Street from Beaver. Road to thel Borough Line- - it was agreed to sweep the area as needed when the sweeper isi in the area and when thes streeti is free from parked cars. Concerns with parking was worked through, including what if motorists do1 not move their car and other do the roadway would be completely blocked. It was also discussed other streets that are Merchant St. Streetscape Project - DPWI has cut down all oft the treesi in advance of construction and will be painting the remaining portions oft tree stumps orange within thei next day. Catch basin at 6th and Duss DPW willl have this repaired within the week. They had to gett the parks ready for Independence Day and the work on Merchant Street done by their respective Parks: Mrs. Miller reported that letters seeking donations to offset the costs of children's activities for the fall festival will be going out shortly. She also stated that thel Mayor is the one who suggested the Mr. Mikulich requested thel Manager to give an update regarding the streetscape project. Manager Kauer stated that the project should start construction within the next two weeks. Preconstruction meetings with the contractors were conducted last week. Work: is tos start on the corner ofgth and Merchant, working on the river-side ofl Merchant, towards 4th Street. Construction is estimated to last through December 27t and resume in early spring forj planting and asphalt work. Mr. Mikulich also expressed a desire for four more. light poles along the ballfields within Panek Park Engineer's) Report: Engineer Suehr reported that contracts fort the Outfall Repair and] Park Projects have both been signed and that notices toj proceed! have been issued tol both contractors. Solicitor Start commented that at the. April 10, 2018 Meeting of] Borough Council, the Council approved and authorized CSI Investigators to conduct ani independent investigation of the Ambridge Police Department. Hes stated that the community has the right tol know on the findings oft this investigation; however these efforts are being hindered by an outside law enforcement agency that is preventing this investigation from moving forward until they complete their own investigations. The Solicitor stated that he is hopeful that the outsidel law enforcement investigation willl be over soons sO that thel Borough's commissioned investigation can fully commence.
